Ich steh einfach auf LPS! Für mich eine DER Abfüllungen in 2021. Mega tolle Abfüllung zusammen mit dem Duchess LPS, natürlich daher auch die gleiche Wertung, da es das gleiche Fass ist. Legendäres Mark.

Tasted directly after the Isla del Ron Long Pond 2008, in direct comparison much less esters and fruit - maybe my perception is just burned away.The nose is fruity with herbal spice: Fruity esters, green tea, slightly foul - distantly like Fijis.In the mouth the rum really picks up: Green bananas, ripe apples and melon, then salty olive, young grain, slightly smoky spices, all with fantastic alcohol integration. Wood is irritatingly barely noticeable after 20 years. The finish brings little new, slight bitterness otherwise the herbal side of the profile.This is great cinema.

A very intense Long Pond with a lot of ester. The long storage makes him but nice round and the rum is wonderfully accessible. The 60% warm without being unpleasant. To the end quite bitter and beautiful Astringent. A great Long Pond, but there are even better bottlings.

04-05.11.2022 Den Danske Rom & Whiskyfestival 2022. Another return to this big event where many people go to get drunk. Once again we had a special event for a select set of people. Notes. Pretty nice release especially when looking at the price tag. Fruity profile with nice esters and an OK balanced ABV. The finish is very long and warm with some grassy notes.

Rundes Ding. Erinnert ein bisschen an junge PM mit Olive, Lakritz und Anis. Hinzu schöne Frucht. Alkohol top integriert.

Overall, a very good bottling that lacks some fruit for me personally. Rather astringent.

C: W wine S: Ever since I tasted that 2000 Duncan Taylor 15y at 51,9% (cask No: 65) I’ve always tasted papaya in almost every continental aged rum from Long Pond. I also get pineapple, cherries and a sophisticated amount of nail polish remover. Is that esters? I think it is. This 20y Sample X reminds me of the 18y LP Mezan. M: Very nice! With a soft pineapple note that reminds me of my beloved Kill Devil C<>H 2007 vintage. Lemons and brine are present too, slightly peppery as well. F: Again, nice with citrus, not too long though. B: Yes! It´s quite amazing how continental and tropical aging can differ in the case of Long Pond. If I would taste this rum blind together with the Velier VRW (Low-Ester) I would never have considered that they came from the same distillery.

Es gibt nichts besonders Schlechtes an diesem Buch. Allerdings ist auf Anhieb nichts wirklich aufregendes dabei, was mich ein wenig an jüngere, kontinental gealterte KFMs erinnert 🤔.

On the nose very, very fruity and ester. Balanced and well integrated alcohol.In the mouth very crisp and furry.What can I say? A craft very good rum, a Hampden Ester lover has the bright joy. Unfortunately, I do not like this type of rum at all.

For a 20y old long pond is extremely little offered here in terms of taste.... Even after tasting 3x and breathing for over an hour this is just really thin.... Some ester, some yellow fruit, but no complexity, no finesse, no funk, super short finish...Must really say I don't understand this product?🤷🏼♂️
