The Nectar Skeldon The Nectar Of The Daily Drams SWR 1997

A fine Skeldon Demerara at great drinking strength for me. Typically dark and heavy. It is quite sweet with a lot of dark fruits and a tobacco note as well. Dark chocolate and some anise. I quite enjoyed this one!

I think this was my first Skeldon experience. Very complex in the nose. Got some vanilla and hints of wood. Deep, dark color and very flavourful. I'm getting notes of fresh berries, caramel, vanilla and mocca

In the mouth, the insanely delicious. Very sweet, malty, plum and chocolate. The finish slightly bitter with rolled out licorice snails.

Dunkle, bittere Schokolade, Kakao, Kaffee, Mokka. ❤️ Melasse, Leder, Toffee

Ich mag das dunkle und schwere Profil. Es ist allerdings sehr nahe daran, zu holzig zu sein. SBS hat eindeutig die Oberhand Seite an Seite. Im Vergleich mit einigen 2001er SWRs wirkt der 1997er viel eleganter und etwas gemäßigter. Der Holzeinfluss ist stärker akzentuiert, an der Grenze zum Überwältigenden.

Nice demerara profile. Pleasant drinking strength, heavy syrupy sweetness, vanilla, tobacco and barrel are well integrated, malt, coffee and dried yellow fruit.

Heavy sweetness, roastiness and spiciness due to the wood influence, plus malty notes and some fruit - I like it much better than the SBS representative from the same year.

Relatively similar to the SBS. Nice blend of wood, coffee and yellow fruit.

good SWR/Skeldon, only the finish is somewhat weak, but this is also due to the rather low ABV.

Needs something in the glass, then the nose becomes nice spicy, malty-roasty, dark and intense. Here comes the Skeldon typical: dark caramel, heavy molasses and dark maple syrup. Spicy lovage, almost Maggi is accompanied by dried juicy plum and dried dark currants. Pleases me already very well.malty-spicy-roasty also on the palate. Slightly bitter and some wood acidity comes through. Also reminds me of treacle (strong, sour, licorice). I find mocha as well as chocolate, caramel and fresh brioche. In the back it becomes more sour and malty.clearly does not play at the top Skeldon with, but is, despite the only 47%, an intense, good, if a little too sour.

Mixed Skeldon with too much Maggi and in the finish already almost like cough syrup instead of sweet, sour has become

Dunkle und Schwer kommt er rüber... Viel Dunkle Früchte.... Pflaumen und Rosinen Trockenfrüchte generell sind sehr im Vordergrund. Ordentlich Holz aber auch eine Schöne Süße... Ölig und kaum Alkohol im Mund zu spüren.

The nose is quite nice with vanilla, burnt Sugar dried fruit and roasted nuts. The mouth on the other hand is too woody for my taste. There is a lot of dark chocolate and bitter orange. The finish is also very woody and bitter.

A very dark Skeldon with a borderline woody bitter notes! He is definitely not my favorite, but a good rum

Interesting skeldon. Maple syrup on the nose. Nice bitterness. The slight acidity and thin finish bother me a bit though.
