Wirklich ein wunderbarer Sipper. Hoher Alk, aber wirklich toll eingebunden. Macht richtig Spaß

From the distillery there's a single barrel with about 59%, which's m.E. only in the U.S.. But at least this is probably the first single cask of an independent bottler... am curious:Nose: very aromatic, lots of fruit, sweet and floral, almost perfume. Besides but also neat spicy with allspice or nutmeg and vanilla. Fresh green apple and muted blackberry, quince, bergamot and lemon. Sweetness comes from burnt and caramelized sugar. I also find some milk chocolate. Slightly smoky-roasty in the background with a subtle vinegar note.Palate: interesting; spicy, slightly bitter-salty-hot and coconut milk at first. Creamy texture. Sweet caraway with some licorice and fat nut, pecan. Almost some umami. Lemon zest, metallic.Excitingly good!

Die Nase ist stechend, mit tropischen Früchten, Holz, Vanille, Zitrusfrüchten. Am Gaumen Kokosnuss, Zitrusfrüchte, Karamell, etwas Gewürz, etwas Holz, Milchschokolade, alles vollmundig und warm. Im leeren Glas Vanille, Kokosnuss und ein wenig Röstung. Interessant

Erneut den Rum Club probiert und er gefällt mir immer noch sehr gut. In der Nase sind Aromen von gebrannten Mandeln bzw Zucker zu erkennen und im Geschmack ebenso ein bisschen nussit und Noten von Vanille.

Last of the sample and saw that I haven’t rated it yet. Nice rum, lots of coconut and milk chocolate in the profile. Good “gateway rum” towards non-sugared cask strength stuff.

Lots of orange, cacao and milk chocolate in addition fresh wood. Great rum.

Noch was jung und scharf, aber ansonsten eine willkommene Neuerung im internationalen Rumkonzert. Schmeckt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes „exotisch“ und eigen. Besonders diese Kokosnuss, Salzmandel, Röstbanane mit einem Tick Asia süß-sauer Sauce - völlig schräg. Erstklassiges Destillat, was mit ein paar Jahren mehr im Fass vermutlich zu ganz großer Form auflaufen wird. Passt gut in die Klaviatur des Pazifik, etwas Fiji, etwas Nine Leaves und nun Hawaii.

Wohl der erste single Barrel in Fassstärke aus Hawaii bis dato. An der Nase noch Recht parfümiert, im Geschmack dann ganz klar Kokosnuss, etwas zitrusabrieb, Milchschokolade, Meersalz und vanillemark und leicht metallische Noten. Gefällt gut, könnte aber etwas runder sein. ne Flasche bräuchte ich davon nicht.

Surprisingly tasty. Coconut clearly resonates here.

Not bad for a five-year-old rum. The storage in Hawaii means of course a different degree of maturity than in continental storage, for example, at one of the large European brokers - in this respect, one should not be misled by the age statement. Exciting and promising in essence - I'm curious what further years in the barrel or possibly differently pre-occupied barrels can cause. Currently tasty solid, but still relatively close to comparable profiles from Barbados, Belize or Venezuela. All the sadder that all the rest of matured bottlings, which has reached us from Kōloa from Kaua'i so far, was hardly comparable, because probably not bottled pure (nota bene a guess on my part, based purely on subjective taste experiences). Beautiful discovery!

Schöne Süße und Frucht. Hat mir gut gefallen wird aber nicht mein Favorit werden.

Sehr angenehm fruchtiger Geruch mit dezenter Kokusnuss. Da waren meine Erwartungen groß vor dem ersten Schluck. Leider konnte er mich geschmacklich nicht überzeugen. Der Alkohol ist deutlich wahrnehmbar und sticht für mich zu stark hervor. Auch mit einem Tropfen Wasser wurde es nur bedingt besser. Es ist auf keinen Fall ein schlechter Rum aber eine Flasche würde ich mir nicht zulegen.

Not to be compared with the previously available Koloas.In the nose dominates incredibly much tangerine. In the taste there is a lot of milk chocolate and coconut.Short somewhat bitter finish.I like, gladly more of it, gladly also older.
