La Confrérie du Rhum HSE XO (Cuvée No. 22) 2016

Überraschend großes Kino! Holz, Honig, Schokolade. Aus den zwei jungen Fässern (nur 7 bzw. 8 Jahre) wurde echt das Optimum herausgeholt.

Tobacco is left for the finish, becomes a bit musty. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is relatively soft, with a juicy, waxy and mineral sugar cane, spicy, the fruits are bourbony, as peaches, orange, maybe kumquat.Red fruits appear in the middle.The wood is dry, a bit smoky, there are nuts like almond, chocolate, vanilla. It is also vegetal and after airing, a bit salty and tannic. When nicely rested, herbal and geranium notes are stronger... 8,6:The finish is long, dry with quite intense wood notes, delicious and mineral sugar cane, bourbon yellow fruits, cherry, vanilla, chocolate, nuts, then a slight tannic edge and tobacco..

Ausführliche Bewertung folgt. Nase: Schönes, leicht geröstetes Zuckerrohr, Küchengewürze und vor allem eine schöne Fruchtigkeit mit Pfirsich, Mango und Mandarine. Mund: die gleichen Marker

The color is a beautiful mahogany, and on the nose I find light woody and caramel notes, some spices, honey, and almond in a more sustained way. On the palate, a gentle attack of the gourmet woodiness so well mastered by HSE, then shifts to red fruits (raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry), then to dark chocolate before gently fading away. Not an avalanche of spice and woodiness, which reduces the finish a little, but it's a very good rum!

Sehr guter, klassischer HSE. Passt alles. Auch der Preis.

Nase = Eine Symphonie aus Holz, Kräuternoten, kandierten Früchten, roten Früchten, etwas Karamell und Schokolade. Mund = Es ist eher ölig, zu dem sich Gewürze, Trockenfrüchte und etwas Vanille gesellen. Mit dem Alkohol und den Fassheizungen verträgt es dieser Brandy, mehrere Minuten lang belüftet zu werden. Der Abgang ist normal.

CdR Abfüllung, blend aus 2 Fässern, 7/8jährig. An der Nase ziemlich karamellig-süss, geröstete Nüsse, dezente grüne Noten, bisschen wie grüne/unreife Banane. Am Gaumen Muskatnuss, Fass, Gerbstoffe. Es fehlt etwas die Komplexität, aber für knapp 90 EUR gibt es hier einen echt leckeren Sipper!

Hier etwas ratlos, ich hoffe, dass der 14-Jährige andere Dinge verspricht :) Eine super nette Nase, die von Früchten und Vanille getragen wird, ein Hauch von Karamell. Im Mund ist er ähnlich, aber mit einigen grüneren Noten. Der Abgang hingegen geht zu sehr in Richtung junges Holz, ein wenig Adstringenz und verbrannter Zucker. Für meinen Geschmack etwas zu gerade und kurz. Ganz nett, aber es fehlt an Tiefe.

Really round and tasty agricole. However, the new American oak or possibly also bourbon barrel sets the tone enormously and almost irons out all agricole aromas. Tonka, cinnamon, vanilla, caramelized sugar, dried apricot, thickened sour cherries and intense barrel notes. Very tasty and harmonious but almost no longer recognizable as agricole rhum. Regardless of this, it's a deliciously tasty rhum that could pass as a daily sipper!

Schöner, komplexer Agricole. Mir etwas zu viele grasige Noten.

Ziemlich starke Karamellnote und Vanille gemischt mit grassigen Noten. Im Mund sehr ähnlich zur Nase. Recht viel Holzeinfluss.

Die Nase Fruchtig mit einem Hauch nugat. Leicht metallischer unterton. Sehr pflanzlich grasiger Geschmack. Der Rum hat eine gewisse Komplexität allerdings sind die grasigen Noten sehr dominant. Gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Leider überhaupt nicht meins. Der Rum schmeckt nach einer Mischung aus süßen Vanillearomen und Kräutern. Mit längerer Standzeit harmoniert das Ganze etwas besser, Kräuter und Vanille, etwas Holz, mehr ist da nicht. Für mich ein sehr moderner Agricole Stil, wie ihn leider auch viele neuere Saint James Abfüllungen aufweisen. Alkohol ist gut integriert. Keine Fehlnoten, aber geschmacklich einfach nicht mein Ding.
