Rum Nation Port Mourant Small Batch Rare Rums 2001

Wirklich sehr überzeugender Port Mourant. Nur wegen der nicht vollständigen tropischen Reife nicht ganz auf dem Niveau des parallel verkosteten PM 1993 von Velier mit 65% (RX2729) - dafür deutlich erschwinglicher (wenngleich ebenfalls kaum noch zu finden).

Das ist ein sehr angenehmer Geruch, aber sehr kräftig im Mund. Sehr langer Abgang Viel Explosion im Mund. Wenn Sie einen milden Rum mögen, ist das nicht Ihr Stil .hart und alkoholreich Schöne Entdeckung für den Rumkeller

Ein guter alter PM. Er ist ziemlich vollständig, von Holz und Bitterkeit geprägt, aber nicht übertrieben. Es mischen sich die typischen Gewürze Anis und Lakritze mit der Seite des Branntweins, Steinfrüchten (Kirschen/Pflaumen). Nett, wenn man dieses Profil mag.

Tasted as a 3cl sample. In the nose first ne really nice plum note, followed by banana, solvent and licorice. Taste-wise, the alcohol has too much force for me. Makes it hard to taste subtleties. Taste-wise, quite little fruit compared to the nose, wood, licorice and spice instead. Finishes dry and slightly fruity, but doesn't linger too long. For 170€ bottle price according to the app (as of 03.02.2022) I think you get better rums.

19.12.2020 Nice tasting shortly before Christmas in a private area of the bar. Unfortunately this very old bar closed down in 2023. Notes Light to medium dark colour. Nose Wood, light smoke, dried fruit, light licorice, nutty. Palate Light wood, faint roasted, medium dry, metallic, plum, licorice, light chocolate. Finish Medium to long, wood, raisin, plum, light smoke.

Compared to the SBS PM 1999, 24yo rx15447. This one is more fruity and the SBS is more herbal with licorice and apple. I like the maturity of the SBS a little better and this one doesn't convince me as much, especially on the palate.

The rum comes up with a surprise right at the beginning: I find a resin note in the nose!Palate: typical Port Mourant but unfortunately quite alcoholic. Very balanced and complex!Finish: communication with pleasantly little wood and bitter notes.

Compared to the Enmore 2002 clearly less woody in the nose and from the smell it really invites very much to drink. Once in the mouth, however, one is somewhat disappointed by the charred fruit with relatively few flavors. The pleasant fruit notes in the nose disappear unfortunately also after a short standing time and give way to a rather alcoholic smell.

Leckerer Rum. Danke an Gunnnar für das Sample. Riecht ziemlich fassig, nussig und auch nach tropischen Früchten. Finde er schmeckt ziemlich alkoholisch, nach Whisky und Obstler. Alkohol trotzdem gut eingebunden. Lecker.

Ich hatte diesen PM im direkten Vergleich zummHigh Spirit im Glas. Obwohl dieser deutlich mehr ABV hat, fällt er doch klar gegenüber dem High Spirit ab. Die Aromen sind nicht so präsent und vielfältig. Es fehlt auch die Harmony. Er wirkt leicht anstrengend

An der Nase etwas rauchig, Lakritze, getrocknete Früchte, Holz leicht fassig. Am Gaumen dann etwas Leder, leichte Obstler Erinnerungen werden bei mir wach gerüttelt. Getrocknete Früchte, Holz, Lakritze.

A very powerful PM. The nose gets great notes of plum, pear, apple and spices. The alcohol is very dominant on the palate. Pear, sherry, and plum, wood and leather, licorice, pineapple, mirabelle plum, also some eucalyptus. Very rich.

Typical Port Mourant profile. For me, it could be aged longer.

Ein Port Mourant aus dem Jahr 2001 mit einer Nase von Birne und Obstbrand.Ein voller Mund, in dem sich Birne, Holz, Gewürze und Leder vereinen.Ein langer Abgang mit Gewürzen.Gleiches Profil wie der RX 6236, aber ein klein wenig harmonischer. Nicht mein Rumtyp.Danke Rodolphe für das Sample.

Like the SBS a quite uninspiring rum with more fruitiness but very light and with no depth at all. Johny Walker bottled?
