Habitation Velier

Habitation Velier grew out of Luca Gargano’s push to put pot-still, pure single rum on the map, and the range reads like a reference library. Each bottling is labelled by distillery, mark and ester level, aged in the tropics and poured at full strength with nothing added. The idea is transparency first: you know exactly what you’re drinking and roughly how funky it will be before the cork comes out.

Across 94 expressions and more than 5,000 reviews, the community lands at a median of 8.4/10. Most of the enthusiasm sits with the Jamaican marks — Hampden and Long Pond especially — where people call out grilled pineapple, glue, overripe fruit and long, spicy finishes. Younger island-hopping releases draw more mixed notes.
