Rum Shark is a Prague project run by people who bottle what they like to drink and sell it from a little rum shop in the city. The casks lean high-proof and unsweetened, drawn from distilleries like Uitvlugt, Appleton Estate, Angostura, Foursquare and Travellers in Belize, plus older Caroni and Guyana stock.

The house style is intense. Several members note the Sharks run hot — “sind wirklich schon sehr alkoholisch diese Sharks,” as one reviewer put it — and often need time to open. When the cask is right, you get technical Jamaican esters, chocolate-heavy Belize, or classic Uitvlugt licorice. When it isn’t, the alcohol can flatten things.
