Dead Reckoning is the independent bottling project of Justin Boseley, built on sourcing single casks from distilleries that enthusiasts already respect and presenting them honestly. Bottles arrive at cask strength, with age statements, cask types and ABV stated plainly, and reviewers repeatedly note the absence of added sugar.

Production is a sourcing and selection story rather than a distillery one. The casks come from across the map: South Pacific Distillery in Fiji, Mhoba in South Africa, Beenleigh in Australia, Foursquare in Barbados and Guyanese Demerara. Many spend time maturing in Australia’s dry climate, and finishes range from Moscatel and Pedro Ximenez to port and red wine.

The range is broad. The Fijian “Mutiny” releases are the heavyweights, with one 20-year, 68% bottling earning 8.9/10 for its oak, maple syrup, dried anise and remarkably buried alcohol.
