Rum deals: current price drops

122 rums just got cheaper. Real price drops of 5% or more, measured against the previously lowest price across more than 40 shops.

A discount sticker only compares a shop to itself. RumX compares it to the market. We watch prices at more than 40 online shops around the clock and only show a rum as a deal once its cheapest delivered price falls below the previous best price on the market. No struck-through prices, no RRP arithmetic, no countdown timers.

Why we don't show discount tags

A discount tag only compares a shop with itself. “−30%” sounds great — but against which price? Usually against a strike-through price or an RRP the shop sets itself, and nobody can verify. Whether a deal is actually good is something only the market can tell you — not the tag.

That's why we made a clear decision in 2026: RumX no longer shows shop discounts or strike-through prices — from any partner shop. Instead, we monitor prices across more than 40 shops around the clock and compare every rum against its previously cheapest market price, shipping to your country included. Only when that best price genuinely falls (at least −5% and −2 €) will you see a “−X%” on RumX.

That also means real price drops are rare — and that's exactly the point. When you see a “−X%” here, there's no discount theatre behind it, just a market movement we measured ourselves. “Was X € on RumX” means we observed that price — no retailer claimed it. And we only show urgency when it's real: no countdown timers, no artificial scarcity.

How deep the drops are right now

Of the 122 rums currently on offer, the median drop is 11%. 30 bottlings have fallen by more than 20%, the deepest by 56%. These numbers are not typed in: they are computed on every build from the same price data behind the cards above. So if only a handful of rums is listed here, there were only a handful of real price drops.

When a rum deal is actually worth it

A deal is not good because the percentage is big. It is good when the price falls below what the rum normally costs, and when the bottle is worth the money in the first place. You can see both at a glance here: every card shows the price drop and the community rating side by side. A rum at 6.5/10 does not get better with 30 % off, it just gets cheaper.

Two things are worth checking before you buy. First the total price: we include shipping to your country, because a deal with 9 EUR of postage often is not one. Second, the depth relative to the price. On a 25 EUR bottle, 5 % is about one euro; on a 200 EUR bottle it is ten. That is why we also apply an absolute floor of 2 EUR. Which rum suits you in the first place is best settled beforehand in the best-of list or by style in the rum types.

Why there are no RumX discount codes

Coupon sites keep listing supposed RumX discount codes. They are not from us: RumX doesn't issue codes, and the checkout has no field to redeem one. There is a real discount though — just without a code: in the RumX app you get 5% off your first order, automatically and across the entire range. And this page is where the real deals live: we continuously compare prices across over 40 shops and only list genuine drops of 5% or more against the previously cheapest delivered price.

How RumX detects price drops

We compare the cheapest delivered price for every rum against the previous check. When a price falls by 5% or more (and at least €2), we flag it as a drop. The flag stays for 7 days, or until the price reverts upward.

FAQ

A drop fires when the cheapest delivered price for a rum (in your country, including shipping) falls by at least 5% and at least €2, compared to the last check. Smaller fluctuations are ignored to keep the signal honest.

Because we can’t verify them — and neither can you. A strike-through price is a shop’s claim about its own former price. Our benchmark is the cheapest market price across all shops instead, which we measure continuously ourselves. Only when that falls has a rum truly become cheaper.

No. RumX doesn’t issue voucher or discount codes, and the RumX checkout has no field to redeem one. Codes circulating on coupon sites are made up and won’t work. There is a real discount without any code: in the RumX app you get 5% off your first order, automatically and across the entire range. On top, this page shows verified price drops of 5% or more against the previously cheapest market price across over 40 shops.

It’s our own market reference: the cheapest delivered price we last observed for this rum across all shops. The comparison runs against the market — not against a price a single retailer chose for itself.

A few every day, but never many. Because we measure against the previous best market price rather than an RRP, most of what is signposted as a deal elsewhere does not qualify here. The number at the top of this page is the current answer for your delivery country, and it changes several times a day.

For detecting a price drop, yes. We calculate on the total price including shipping to your country, otherwise a 3 EUR cut alongside more expensive postage would be a phantom deal. On each rum’s own page you see the item price and shipping separately, so you can compare one shop’s offer against the next.

This page refreshes a couple of times per day. Individual rum pages always show the live badge, and the RumX app notifies you the moment a price drops.

For one specific bottle, yes. This page shows what has dropped generally and is rebuilt a few times a day. A price alert watches exactly the rum you want and tells you the moment its price falls. The two work best together: browse here, wait deliberately there.

Over 40 partner shops, independents, specialty importers, and major chains. The list rotates as we add partners and remove ones that are out of stock for long stretches.

Two usual reasons. The drop was below our 5% / €2 floor. Or the price dropped to an out-of-stock listing. The rum’s own page always shows the most accurate state.

Catching deals before they are gone

A price drop is valid here for at most seven days. After that it becomes the new normal price and the mark disappears, even if the price stays low. Often a deal is gone before then, because specialist retailers hold small quantities. If you have a particular bottle in mind, set a price alert: you set it on the rum's own page, and the RumX app tells you the moment the price falls, instead of you checking back here daily. For rare bottlings that no shop stocks any more, the auctions are the second source.
