Sip this cask-strength Bielle neat, maybe with a drop of water to tame the 56.5% — one taster said a few drops "never hurt." Fruity and floral on the nose (peach, orange, a little coconut), moving into licorice, anise, oak and yellow fruit on the palate. A few glue and lacquer notes hint at its agricole-from-cane-juice roots. Long finish, a touch of astringency.

Aaaah, this is a nice rum. The lovely flavours are there from opening the bottle and only gets better as it is airated in the glass. Fruity and floral on the nose carrying over to the palate that is warm, intense and well balanced with some wood and licorice. Here you get a lot for your money if you like this kind of rum.

The nose strikes with its fruitiness, especially on quince. There are also some light spices (vanilla, cinnamon). A second nose gives more acidic accents, more on peach. The woodiness is almost imperceptible. The whole is very simple and consensual. The palate brings the same acidity, even a pronounced astringency. The alcohol is quite pronounced. The cane brings freshness, with some aniseed notes, but without removing the spiciness of the chili. The finish brings back yellow fruits: peaches, dried apricots. The finale is short to medium, with licorice, anise, and a bit of cask.

Nose typical Bielle. Nutty, licorice, tobacco and yellow fruit (peach), a touch of coconut. Nice glue and varnish notes.Then in the mouth dark chocolate and complex spice. Dried fruit and peach. Crisp, a few drops of water won't hurt here. Sophisticated yet drinkable.A great rum, right in line with the house. The 7 years maturity also fit very well.

Exciting again. Would never have thought of Bielle. Thought I knew the distillery. You can be so wrong. There are floral notes, but also lots of herbs with licorice and aniseed. Would also have guessed continental maturation. A little one-dimensional. Not a highlight for me.
