Phew, heavy old Demerara profile. Reminds me of the SilverSeal 1974 I once had. But for me this bottling is miles away from other Enmore bottlings of the same vintage I've had so far. Also not comparable to modern bottlings. At 48% ABV, absolutely amazing. Insanely complex. Molasses, some pine needles, spices like allspice, anise, dark chocolate, wet wood. It reminds one of meaty things, like a kind of Mexican mole. Deep flavor. Only the burnt note is slightly dominant, not disturbing for me, but a bit less would have been excellent. Balances out a bit with a drop of water.

Nice heavy demerara profile, unfortunately a bit too smoky for me on the palate for the otherwise delicate aromatics of heavy dried fruit, licorice, leather, balanced spices and wood.

This is a very heavy, dark Enmore. I can imagine drinking it in winter on a nice cold evening. The long ageing is already clearly evident in the cask aroma, but it's still just okay. The alcohol is barely perceptible. Overall, a finely balanced Enmore. I like it.

06.11.2021 Another visit to "Den Danske Rom & Whiskyfestival and once again with special access and many very drunk people both days. Notes. Another secret mini bottle came out of nowhere and we all liked it. A very well balanced rum with good ABV integration. Medium fruity with light caramel and a vegetal touch. The palate is oily and has nice chocolate and a light smoky note. The finish is long and woody with a light minty note. This was the end of day 2.

After a little time it gets better. Really nice on the nose, but a bit too smoky for my taste, otherwise the rating would have been a bit better.

... Enmore - drive distillery, now just a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excite lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very strong and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

Complex rum with a great nose. Lots of wood, leather, spices, licorice, herbs, and some fruit. Long finish. Unfortunately, there is also a pronounced smoky note that bothers me. Otherwise, it would certainly be worth 3-4 points more.
