Romdeluxe Wild Series Rum Martinique No. 16 MSRA 2008
Herbaceous sugarcane, lemon peel and dried apricot lead here, with pepper and nutmeg building through a long, dry, tannic finish. This is a 13-year Martinique agricole at cask strength, and tasters keep landing on the same word — "classic martinique." Not a sweet rum: the fruity cane notes turn dry and woody, with a faint medicinal edge some pick up. The 59% stays surprisingly well integrated.
The community says- Classic agricole character
- Well-integrated alcohol
- But: Faint medicinal edge

Well, for me, a great agricole. Surprisingly, I didn't expect it. It's sweet and lovely, and it smells like a classic martinique. It's not aggressive on the palate, perfectly integrated alcohol, fruit and glue notes. And a longer, warming finish.

In a word, I would say agricole - this is what I imagine a rum of this type should taste like. For me, yummy, I like it. Lots of citrus/fruit in the aroma, which transitions to a bit of medicinal disinfectant. In the taste I feel similar, the rum isn't sweet but the fruity sweet notes of sugar cane go into dryness, a bit of woodiness to techy again. 59% I don't find it overpowers the flavour of the rum this time and it doesn't taste like cough drops either.
