Sipped neat, this 25-year Diamond pours out dark and gourmand: dried fruit, prunes, chocolate, coffee and burnt caramel, with a licorice-and-oak backbone and a whiff of old varnish. Almost everyone calls it beautifully balanced and easy-drinking. The recurring gripe is the dilution — at 46.6% several tasters wish it had a few more percent to carry all that flavor.

Incredible Diamond profile in which we can find nuts, burned caramel, coffee, wood and dried fruits. Its only weakness is dilution which is not perfectly executed (alcohol pic). Besides this, clearly my favorite kind of rum 💘

Very tasty and pleasant rum. Umami in the mouth, full and yet very balanced. I like it very much. Wood and old molasses notes in the form of licorice. Overall a little too thin for a higher rating.

Why did they have to dilute this rum so much? The sweetness of caramel and milk chocolate is a little too dominant, along with vanilla, coffee and spices... unfortunately it remains a little too sweet, it simply lacks expressiveness - and even if I can only assume the positive influence, of course, a few more percentages would have been good for the distillate.

A nice Diamond from 1996 selected by Corman Collins, which starts with an expressive and perfumed nose for its strength. Dried and exotic fruits whirl with woody, spicy (vanilla, licorice, clove) and dark (leather, chocolate, cocoa, coffee) notes of the Demerara style. The heaviness of fruity and sweet aromas (caramel, Demerara sugar) and the veil of freshness give the feeling of a gourmand and rich rum after airing. A beautiful first approach. On the palate, we find a surprisingly lively rum despite the notable dilution. Raisins and prunes combine with chocolate, coffee, leather, nuts, the smoky, woody side and spices (licorice, vanilla) to give body to the rum on the palate. It's gourmand, but also delicate and extremely drinkable. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is long, dark, bitter but sticky, almost viscous, coating the palate with notes of black fruits and dried fruits, dark and sweet notes, characteristic of the Demerara style. A rum of great class, fine, complex and extremely drinkable.

A very dark-looking rum with a nose of old varnished wood, leather, smoke. The palate is less dark with herbs, bitterness (artichoke?), and caramel. The finish is long, with always a bit of bitterness. It oscillates very interestingly between notes of bitterness and caramel. The empty glass reminds one of a very classy old English smokehouse with leather furniture and varnished wood.

Great nose. Excellent profile, but unfortunately very weak on the chest. With 5-8% more, a top rating would certainly have been possible here. Incredibly round and balanced, even complex on the finish. For the age, a reasonable price-performance ratio.

#6039 06.12.2025 Need a short break from all the whites I need to sample and spit. It is weekend againg and heavy trance is on the air right now and the mood it just up where it belongs on a really good day. Nose Fresh, round, balanced, wood, light roasted, caramel, light chocolate, nutts, light plum faint orange, light coconut. Palate Oily, fresh, balanced, wood, faint smoke, caramel, light anise, light coffee, light plum, light bitter, light chocolate. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, light caramel, light chocolate, dried fruit, light nutts. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, light caramel, light coffee, prunes, light licorice. This rum is so well balanced once rested that I think most rum drinkers would actually be able to appreciate it.

The nose is complex and greedy. Sweet, dried, ripe fruits are at the head of the pack. We find oranges, prunes, raisins, dates ... But other fresher fruits are also part: cherry-raspberry. All completed by a nice dose of solvent varnish that make this olfactory bouquet more than interesting. In the mouth, there is some pep but the alcohol is perfectly integrated. It's less fruity than the nose, but it's quite greedy thanks to the caramel and coconut notes. Some oak pushes from the shoulders into the pack and the tobacco gets a little acceleration. The finish is nice, long and dry on chocolate/coffee. My goodness, it is really concentrated this Dark Demerara, and it does not leave indifferent at all (in a good way!).

Super nice old Vintage Diamond. Liquid brown caramel syrup, cola blast, and grilled citrus fruits with molasses. Very heavy, oily, and fruity-spicy. Incredibly beautiful easy sipper that you can easily slurp more than 10cl of. The drinking strength is perfectly chosen! Awesome stuff!

Too bad that the Diamond was diluted! Taste-wise, I like the Corman a little better than the Rome de luxe 2 batch. It is very nicely balanced and easy sipping due to the dilution.
