Just one year in wood and it lands in an odd middle ground — the fresh grassy cane of an unaged agricole, but with a light oak, vanilla and pepper edge on top. Tasters find baked-apple and citrus notes, a woody, earthy palate, and 50% that shows as a spicy heat up front. Pleasant enough, not very complex, and a touch young.

Very sweet yet has a bright grassiness that still falls squarely in the unaged agricole. Lots of delicate notes and undertones. Excellent in tiki drinks, it doesn't get lost against fresh citrus juice

Unfortunately, this Neisson is not enough for an easy sipper. It tastes quite sharp-edged with dominant sweet sugar cane notes and grass, young wood,... Rather unsuitable neat, maybe something for cocktails.

#5042 11.01.2025 Enjoying a few samples at home. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruits, light sugarcane, clove, light vegetal. Palate Round, oily, sweet, light wood, sugarcane, light vegetal, light citrus, orange. Finish Short to medium long, sweet, light wood, light roasted, faint caramel, light orange. The empty glass has chocolate, light nutmeg, light honey, light malt.

Tasted from an old bottle brought back from Martinique 20 years ago. Definitely not the best rum produced by Neisson. I really like the ones aged under wood where you get both the freshness of the cane and the hints of wood. This one is no exception but the alcohol is a bit too sharp.

Lively nose, citrus (lemon), very noticeable alcohol, milk chocolate, vanilla Lively palate more pleasant than the nose, woody, citrus, finish a bit flat, pleasant sweetness. In summary, meh meh and hard to hit the 222 characters on this kind of juice 😅

Solid Rhum Agricole. Oak makes an impact and softens up the “funk” and “briny” notes that are normally found in unaged Rhum agricoles. Floral, grassy, apple, citrus. Pepper-y finish. Oak adds some tannins.

I can’t get apple pie out of my mind with this one. Something, mostly from the aroma, strongly reminds me baked apples and spice but the palette is woodier, earthier, and has some nice spicy notes.
