#6221 11.01.2026 First online tasting of 2026 with a few of the guys. Thank you Jens Ole for arranging all the samples! Nose Fresh, medium intense, ester, fruity, overripe, banana, nutts, light cherry, faint floral. Palate Warm, ester, fresh, light wood, fruity, overripe, naturally sweet, light anise, citrus, banana, light herbs, faint smoke. Finish Long and warm, light peppery, light cherry, light smoke, anise, light wood. Empty glass Vegetal, olive, licorice, light caramel, citrus.

Tropical fruits, spices, wood - nothing revolutionary, but a good Jamaica release that meets all common expectations. No more, but also no less. Solid.

After some time it opens up... then a caramelized banana, dried plum, slight woodiness and some port come through. On the palate, same game except for the banana... the finish has a slightly bitter woodiness! The alcohol is surprisingly well integrated... an interesting and somewhat different Monymusk.

Nose: Málaga wine finish > Madeira > PX. On the palate, for me, the same order. I wouldn't have thought that a nearly re-racked MM could be such a good mix between LP and NY (but not as fruity). I'm not really into sherry finishes, but not bad either. Interesting lineup!
