Wood, leather and a little cocoa lead here, with citrus and faint caramel underneath and a light oily texture. What makes it interesting is the mix: Karukera blended molasses and cane juice, so you get agricole freshness sitting next to a rounder, aged body. One Danish taster tracked dried fruit and sugarcane right into the empty glass. The finish runs a touch short, and one reviewer found it a bit thin.

12.09.2025 Retasting and I still find it a pretty ok rum. ------------------ #5081 Saturday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light leather, light citrus, faint caramel, dried fruit, spice. Palate Fresh, light oily, wood, light roasted, citrus, light chocolate, light caramel, faint leather, light earthy, dried fruit. Finish Medium long, light oily, wood, light sugarcane, light spicy, light vegetal. Empty glass Wood, sugarcane, vanilla, light chocolate, citrus.

A fine product! On the palate, caramel, coconut and citrus mingle with leather. Very pleasant to have a mix of agricultural and molasses. Great fun to drink, very, very good indeed! Finish a little short, however. Unfortunately, the price is far too high.

Very successful, slightly reminiscent of Damoiseau 1991, also a combination of molasses and agricol. The price could be lower, but it tastes really great.
