Sweet-rum drinkers who want a bit more backbone are the natural fit here. It's the same chocolate-vanilla-coffee profile as the 40% version, but the 50% ABV gives it fuller body and more spice. Notes of caramel, dark fruit, plum and roasted nuts, still clearly sweet. One taster called it "well balanced and spicy," while a few felt it stays a touch simple for an anniversary bottle.

More alcohol than the little brother 😳 it has a bit of a burning sensation in my throat 🔥 and when I mix it with Pepsi Max it gets a minty taste. This is the last bottle I want to have in the cabinet and I think it's best in Cola.

This rum somehow disappointed me. Has a spicy note in nose and palate, plus it is slightly sweet. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla and coffee can be tasted. Expected more from an anniversary rum.

The taste has notes of vanilla, fruit and spices - The same rum as the "little brother" but the higher alcohol percentage of 50% works well here and suits better compared to the otherwise quite sweet rum - to my taste 👍

Although it is a Hispanic rum, the 50% bottled version offers a rum with a bit more character than the usual South American candies. The nose is spicy, woody, vanilla, chocolate, caramelized and slightly fruity. On the palate, the power brought by the 50% combines well with the indulgent notes of caramel and spices (licorice notably). The wood, coffee and nuts add to a very clear and direct profile. The rum is thick and honeyed on the palate, reinforcing the sweetness noticeable from the start. The finish, quite ephemeral, is more spicy and peppery, with roasted and grilled tones on the hazelnut. Although it lacks complexity and depth, it is a good compromise between power and sweetness for Hispanic rums.

This is a good beginner rum because even though it's not complex it still masters a lot of flavours. A sweet rum with good aromas and a nice palate and best of all, pretty cheap compared to the competition.

My first Peruvian, I hope there are better ones. It's too sweet for me, the dark notes dominate this rum. A little fruit on the nose, otherwise lots of wood, spice, slightly bitter, malted burnt at the back. Worth trying but nothing special.

Tasting the Millonario portfolio with Mario Navarro: The highlight of the evening along with the XO, my favorite fifty, the Cinquenta. It's a classic ten-year-old just in a full-bodied form. The taste is the same but enhanced with so-called full-body and a sherry finish. Excellent. I recommend it to anyone who likes sweet sherry like Pedro Ximenez. The rum is aged in casks that previously held Williams & Humbert sherry. PS: Insider info is that this bottle is already discontinued and they're selling off the last pieces. If you're a fan, I recommend buying while you still can. I even did that the very evening of the tasting.

Very pleasent surprise (low expectations though). The nose is to the alcoholic side, but less present in the mouth. Sweet with dark fruits, plum, and vanilla.
