24.02.2026 Retasting and I still like it a lot. ---------- This was a very surprising rum to give a go. Very fruity from nose to finish and also with a wooden touch all the way. What I like a both this particular rum is the way it changes from nose to palate and then again to the finish. It does so and still maintains a very high level of integrity. The smoky wood flavours on the palate and finish really puts this one up there with the top shelf ones. Sad that Ten Cane is history because they could really make unique flavours.

Wow, that doesn't pick me up at all. While the rum is still slightly fruity on the nose, it's just sharp on the palate. Too bad.

Incredibly complex on the nose, first a blast of cardboard and later fruity notes of plum and raspberry, floral like rose, some grapefruit, sandalwood, dark chocolate and maple syrup, as well as strong mocha. Taste-wise slightly salty, bitter like grapefruit, sandalwood, dates, mocha, very dark chocolate, plus some mandarin and rosewater. On the finish then slightly like gingerbread, mandarin and dark chocolate. Unfortunately, the fruitiness from the nose is missing in taste. Alcohol is well integrated, overall not quite as complex as the Duchess Ten Cane, but still very tasty.

Was soll ich jetzt sagen? Dieser Ten Cane holt mich so gar nicht ab. Die floralen Noten erinnern mich am Parfum und wirken auf mich sehr künstlich. Der Alkohol ist deutlich spürbar und wirkt im Nachklang störend scharfkantig.

For me the best Ten Cane tried. Beautiful complexity. Alcohol best integrated of all. Allows the aromas to unfold without being overwhelmed by the alcohol. I like the cappuccino notes that come through.

Herbal, wild, young. Very nice varied rum with high recognition value. Slight mint taste like the older TDLs, but overall more herbs, tar in taste. Alcohol very well integrated, finish quite short.

Fine Ten Cane nose, this mix of many floral notes, especially rose scent, then plum comes to mind, along with grapefruit and then young wood and slight sweetness. On the palate, the aromas change so fast you can hardly catch them, at first it seems quite thin, then it becomes more complex. The floral notes remain recognizable, but now woody/spicy notes dominate. Noticeably salty and smoky, it leaves the mouth. Wild stuff.😉

It is not that I can really point the fault in this directly. Because a lot of nice things go on here. In the end it is probably too young and too thin. And the finish gets really two dimensional too.
