Expect a rum that swings from juicy and floral to downright meaty. It opens on pear, honey, lychee and eucalyptus, then turns sulphury, fermented and "extremely meaty" with glue, burnt rubber and BBQ notes. Alpine herbs, sandalwood and roasted almost-burnt wood round it out. One taster warned it's not for delicate palates or everyday drinking — a genuinely unusual Indonesian cask-strength arrack-style pot still.

Funniest spelling mistake: Inodonesia 😀 Initially very fruity with juicy pear, lychee, honey, apricot, and eucalyptus on the nose, after a while it becomes extremely meaty and fermented, sulfurous... taste-wise then some pear & honey, but also this glue and BBQ note, as well as some canned lychees and alpine herbs like sage, thyme, and mint plus sandalwood. Glue and canned lychees dominate clearly until the end. Exciting but not for the faint-hearted and certainly not for every day!

7,7:On the nose, eucalyptus with grassy sugarcane, fermented tropical, citrus fruits, pears, nutty wood, spicy, burnt rubber, hints of sulphur, meaty notes with bacon, salty, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, dried apricots arise, flowery sugarcane, some copper. 7,8:On the palate, the attack is sweet with herbaceous, flowery sugarcane, roasted, burnt wood notes like cocoa, confectionery, spicy with baking spices, medicinal with nail polish and glue, some soap, fruity with fermented tropical fruits, peaches, pears, mirabelle plums. 7,6:The finish is medium long, dry, the mood is burnt with rubber, meaty tones, mocha, nuts, salty, bitter, medicinal with varnish, the fruits are fermented and the sugarcane flowery and herbaceous..

It's not very often that you stumble upon a rum from Indonesia and speaking from experience, the rums you get in Indonesia are not always that good. This release however is really good thinking about its origin. Very fruity with rubber and nutty elements. I like the roasted almost burnt note on the palate and finish. Price to quality is very good.

Retasting during Arrach Attack 2.0 Tasting: Great representative! If it weren't so short at the end, over 8 points would definitely be possible. Exciting! Very unusual profile, pineapple & pepper, light anise notes. Unfortunately the nose is very inconspicuous and quite rough at the end. Makes a great Daiquiri.

And the next great Arrack afterwards. Not entirely unlike the other one, basically their basic taste is very similar. It's definitely very spicy, herbal and also toasty. A bit of menthol but also mint can be detected.

Arrac(k) tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. From smoky to fruity to spicy, everything was represented – partly a bit unbalanced, partly surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed memorable. Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)ks. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But I was really surprised by this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is always put into it. A real honor to be able to attend such tastings repeatedly.

Highlight of the Arrack tasting. Finally something round in the mustiness and lemon note. Iodine and lactic acid. Metallic in the finish. A bit of C<>H for Indonesia.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. An interesting and disparate nose with cedar wood, banana, black tea and bitterness. The palate is more balanced but the aromas are a bit weak with some tannins as well. The finish is moderately long, fresh fruits and woodiness linger for a long time.

Really nic emix of herbs and fruit and rubber. Mixing well with burned notes and vegetables. I. A drink this gets some paprika warmth and banana chips. This is again a solid cave guildive. Really recommend you this arrak
