One taster called it a "honey-sweet agricole" that turns surprisingly complex after a soft, fruity start — and that split is the whole story. Expect grassy sugarcane, citrus, vanilla and a good hit of cinnamon spice, with a mild, round body from this Guadeloupe column-still cane-juice rum. Several found the palate a touch spicy and ordinary next to that gorgeous nose.

This is definitely not a mixer and I'd be sad to see people mixing with this very nice rum. A very delicious rum that's dry in the beginning but the explodes with a lot of flavours. A great Agricole that I think connoisseurs would love. Price to quality is very good.

Not bad at all. In the nose the fruitiness dominates. At the palate it’s fruity, woody, spicy, round and a little vegetal and sweet with flavors of oak. During the medium long finish the flavors is persistent.

Great fruity-vanilla nose that after some time resembles a Speyside whisky. Also on the palate a mix of Scotch and Agricole, so probably quite good for someone coming from whisky, but that profile isn't quite my thing.

Can also be drunk well neat. Was my first Ti Punch with a brown rum, works well but for a Ti Punch I wouldn't go beyond VSOP, otherwise the wood becomes too dominant.

Very enticing nose, rich, fruity and pastry-like, vanilla caramel Very soft and full-bodied on the palate, it's a good rum to start the evening, it goes down very well, quite indulgent while keeping the authenticity of agricole, there is a taste of cigar and honey in the mouth that really distinguishes it from others Not very woody nor very long on the palate but rather on sweet aromas

Surprising rum. It has all the characteristics of an agricole but the fruity aromas and its roundness contrast with its smoky and spicy nose and finish. It lacks a bit of character for a VSOP but will satisfy most people.

A nice Agricole with great white wine and sugarcane notes. On the nose, rather light – honey, sugarcane. On the palate, an intense white wine note, spicy, peppery, combined with a clear sharpness. The alcohol isn’t perfectly integrated. The finish is dominated by the sharpness, with typical white wine notes. My conclusion: An interesting Agricole if you like intense white wine notes. A very spicy pro that I really liked. Unfortunately, the alcohol isn’t well integrated, and that bothers me a lot with this rum because it unfortunately covers the wine notes in a disturbing way. Definitely let it breathe, then the sharp alcoholic note is significantly reduced!

The first time I tried it, I wasn’t impressed because the grassy agricole notes bothered me quite a bit. Now with more experience and a "finer palate," primarily honey on the nose before breathing but also quite alcoholic. On the taste first honey - sweet, then shifting to sugarcane, fresh - woody and slightly grassy. Quite a long, warm finish. Agricole definitely won’t be my main style, but I appreciate the variety. Drinks: - Neat: 3.5/5 - Rum Mule: 3/5

Far from being a fan of old Damoiseau, I found this VSOP surprising: a frank and pleasant attack, a very balanced presence of woodiness and fruitiness with the alcohol. A more than decent length on the palate allowing you to appreciate the woodiness again.

Silky soft texture on the tongue. Interesting spice notes. For a cocktail of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and tonka bean. I've only had that before with Amburana wood aging, which this one probably didn't have. Completely different than expected if you had Martinique in the glass before. Pretty strange but not bad once you get used to it. Definitely not generic.

A very fruity and pleasant nose, much more ordinary on the palate. Still a good drink, quite simple but rather pleasant. Too bad for the somewhat excessive spicing on the palate, not very consistent with the softness on the nose.

On the nose malt, grain, smoke and something medicinal. In the glass a watery light straw yellow. On the tongue slightly oily, somewhat medicinal with a slight sharpness, apricot, eucalyptus and a pleasant honey note. In the finish again some sharpness and sweetness, as well as tasty apricot, mandarin and peach.
