CDI Hampden Jamaica HLCF 1992

Hampden fans who want fruit over funk will feel at home here. This 24-year 1992 HLCF leans on overripe pineapple, banana and mango, with roasted almond, a little brioche-butter and gentle wood behind it. The ester and glue are dialed back, so it drinks rounder than most Hampdens. Still cask strength at 59.8%, and a few tasters found the nose a touch harsh and sour.

The community says
  • Overripe tropical fruit
  • Beautifully balanced

92er Referenz Hampden!💯⚡🤤

What a gem! I truly believe that HLCF and HGML are the best expressions of Hampden! Tons of overripe tropical fruits (ananas, jack fruit and banana), mixed with heavier, creamier notes (butter and beef) with a touch of brine and wood from the barrel. I simply cannot stop sniffing and sipping this wonderful rum!

Wow this was a nice surprise. A powerful and intense release and I would have loved to get my hands on a bottle. Intense from nose to finish with nice fruit and esters/glue. Light wood and very good ABV integration. The empty glass is really nice and fruity with some nutts.

Simply magnificent. A bottle to have in your bar. A surprising color for its age. An explosion of tropical fruit on all sides, both on the nose and on the palate. Superbly crafted, with great complexity and well-integrated alcohol. I wonder if it even deserves more than 91%.

A real surprise! From the smell to the taste to the finish, a great collection of red fruits (currants, raspberries) and yellow fruits. Very little ester and wood/roasted notes. An ideal summer rum.
