Three Rivers 1998 – 46.2% Another single cask selected by La Maison du Rhum. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2012 at 46.2%, only 272 lucky ones got to taste it! Be careful though: several 1998 versions exist. This one is special because it was only offered to the Belgian market to celebrate the 10th anniversary of La Maison du Rhum. Its barrel had a rare feature: a "zebra pattern," with every other stave made of chestnut instead of classic oak. The finish is long and flavorful, driven by fruits and elegant woodiness. You immediately want to come back for more... but the glass is already empty! A superb rum, probably one of the finest expressions of Trois Rivières, clearly above the rest along with the 2003.
