A very nice Bielle from 2009 that gives a beautiful impression on the nose. You find a nice fruity part with exotic fruits, citrus, peach, and apricot. The floral notes are delightful and very fresh on violet, chamomile, and aromatic herbs leaning towards black tea. The spicy and woody notes are also present. A fragrant, round, and very pleasant profile. The attack on the palate offers multiple facets: sometimes fruity, sometimes spicy, sometimes floral, the aromatic palette is wide and well spread over the length. It's well brought and the alcohol is well integrated; the 49.4% still have a minimum of liveliness. However, the finish is below expectations, thin, volatile, and scattered, without being too expressive. It is slightly bitter on grass, espresso, and cocoa. You find a succinct woodiness and light spices at the end of the mouth. The little menthol and tea notes at the end are fresh and pleasant. If the finish seems disappointing, the flavors on the nose and palate are more striking, you feel more impact, liveliness, and complexity in this profile than in the Bielle 2011, which is rounder and more indulgent.

Rasta and Bielle, a good combo and corresponding expectations... Fruity, gingerbread and a hint of licorice. Youthful, fragile aromas, strong yet interesting and good. On the palate somewhat alcoholic, plenty of citrus. Finish with pepper, citrus and warmth. Interesting, but by far not as good as RX2979 and RX7116.

After resting for 15 minutes this rum releases all of its wonderful flavours. Very fresh and grassy with fruit and vanilla. The finish is long and very well balanced. Unfortunately only released in a very limited amount of bottles.

The nose makes really a lot of fun and desire for more. Taste-wise, it is then a bit too thin for me and not quite as intense and fruity as I had hoped. Nevertheless, a very tasty bielle!

Bert (Asta Morris) is very good at selecting his Bielles and he proved it again with this 10 yo. You have multiple layers, the one with that citrus touch akin to the distillery profile (really stewed here), but also tobacco and incense that make this one a winner for its complexity (not mentioning spices, coffee beans, vanilla, a hint of coco and the vegetal side). Makes you wonder what was the Bourbon in the cask before!
