Hampden Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 18 Treasure Cask Jamaica HLCF 1992

9.0/10
Rated by Thomas , Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰 & 91 more

Pineapple, fermented banana and glue up front, with roasted oak, honey and marzipan filling in behind it — classic Hampden funk that 29 years has rounded off. Reviewers keep coming back to how seamlessly the 58.6% disappears and how creamy the texture is. A few feel the long cask time leans a touch woody and dry, but most call it one of the better 1992 HLCFs they've had.

  • Esters and tropical fruit
  • Alcohol well integrated
  • Creamy texture

How does Hampden Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 18 Treasure Cask Jamaica HLCF 1992 taste?

Aggregated from 93 community reviews.

Rounded, creamy old Hampden, big tropical ester Loved across the board as a rich, balanced old Hampden with perfectly buried alcohol. The only quibble: a couple find the cask a bit too woody and dry for the funk.

Perfect for

Fans of high-ester Jamaican funk who want age and roundness

Less suitable for

Newcomers and anyone wanting a soft, sweet, low-funk sipper

What a lovely interpretation of Jamaica. One of the best Jamaicans I have had in a very long time. A definite must try if you like the funkiness of Jamaica.

Give. Me. Ester. This is what a Hampden must taste like. Compared to the Nobilis 1992 HLCF a bit rounder and better integrated alcohol (almost perfect).

Hervorragender Hampden …. Komplex und mit perfekt eingebundenem Alkohol! Funky und vielschichtig mit langem Abgang… genauso muss er sein 👍🏻

New Hampden 1992 reference. Beats the 24-year-old CDI by a very narrow margin. Exceptionally good!

Edit: this was one of my first really, really good Jamaicans. Unfortunately I no longer have a bottle, but the sample I got again will be drunk on a special day. Simply superb. A truly round, creamy, multi-layered taste experience. That's all I need to say. My new front runner in my ranking.
