Un nez ample avec des esters, des fruits tropicaux sur-mûrs et du bois de cèdre. La bouche est pleine, puissante pour seulement 45%, des fruits secs et le bois est très présent. La finale est courte et très boisée. Ce rhum est intéressant mais manque de complexité, le cèdre et les fruits secs forment la majorité de tous les arômes.

8,7:On the nose, roasted wood notes like nuts(especially walnuts), dark chocolate, caramel, strong barrel impact, leather, cedar wood hints, spicy with allspice, fruits like raisins, prunes, dates, dark molasses with pencil shavings, tobacco, with honey hints, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration tropical fruits and light esters arise, citrus, dark berries, currants, the molasses is earthy, floral, dark with black tea, vegetal with soy sauce. Sulphurous and coppery patina join, when oxidation does its job. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is dark, slightly bitter, coppery with roasted oak and dark chocolate, leather, cocoa, nuts, slightly resinous, spicy with allspice, fruity with dried fruits like prunes, raisins, dates, apricots, joined by dark berries, citrus fruits, as the molasses is thick, dark with licorice, black tea, earthy with cigar tobacco, pencil shavings, floral and minty, grassy. 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, balanced with notes from the palate lingering on.

Auch ein sehr netter Rum, typisches Profil, kommt wieder sehr, sehr dunkel daher. Holz/Fass, Leder, und (dunkle) Schokolade haben wir hier, ist aber auch recht röstig, dank einer Kakaonote. Gibt schlechtere ;)

Lots of wood and the expected bitter note. As expected, the dark heavy notes of tobacco, lots of wood and leather. In the finish, dark chocolate and cocoa. The actually somewhat weak 45% are not noticeable. Many thanks to Rumurmel for this great sample.

Nachdem ich zuvor den RX24443, RX3534 und RX23926 random im Glas hatte, wollte ich mir zum Abschluss nochmal einen Älteren genehmigen. Schwer zu vergleichen mit den "jungen" die ich zuvor im Glas hatte, aber dieser war schon für meinen Geschmack deutlich besser.

On the nose, it comes across as very full and heavy. Lots of dark chocolate, tabacco, cedarwood, and toasted notes. On the palate, it comes across as less complex, and I really had to taste it several times to get a complete and accurate picture. It is light but reasonably full-bodied. Delicious warm notes. Dark cocoa, leather, barrel, toast,tabacco and wood come through well. The finish is medium-long, a little dry, bitter and the warmth slowly comes towards you.

In der Nase sofort extreme REV-Assoziationen: Pflaume, Leim, Plastik, volle Breitseite Autoreifen, Karamell und Kräuter. Dazu kräftige Röstaromen, Melasse, Kakao, Bleistift und Leder. Dunkel, würzig und ziemlich markant. Im Mund setzt sich das Bild fort. Plastik, Kräuter und Lakritz, dazu eine deutliche Bitterkeit. Eukalyptus und Menthol treten stärker hervor und geben dem trockenen Profil eine kühle Seite. Für 45 % erstaunlich vollmundig und mit ausreichend Kraft, mehr Volumenprozente braucht er für mich gar nicht. Im Gegenteil: Bei höherem ABV könnte die ohnehin deutliche Bitterkeit schnell zu dominant werden. Die Trockenheit und Bitterkeit sind mir einen Tick zu stark. Auch der Abgang bleibt für meinen Geschmack etwas zu kurz präsent. Insgesamt aber ein charaktervoller Rum mit erstaunlicher Fülle für die Trinkstärke.

Typical 91er KFM profile with prominent bitterness and lots of wood, leather, pencil, dried fruits and chocolate. This one also has some dark berries and a nice fruitiness. (But it needs some time in the glass until the malty notes become fruitier). Tasty for KFM lovers, but clearly overpriced compared to other representatives of the vintage.

Very spicy and woody with lots of bitters. Chocolate dark fruits lots of wood influence, leather pencil. Pleasant sweetness on first contact in the mouth. On the whole, too much bitterness for me.

1991er Demerara von Samaroli. Für nur 45 % bringt er die Geschmacksnoten sehr gut rüber, aber es ist leider nicht mein Profil. Sehr bitter, verbranntes Karamell, Holz, etwas dunkle Schokolade und die typischen KFM Noten. .

Ein toller KFM mit den typischen dunklen Noten nach Holz, Bitterkeit und Cola. Stark adstringierend. Die Nase ein Traum. Ich würde den Rum noch viel besser bewerten, dagegen spricht aber, dass die Verdünnung sich dann leider doch negativ bemerkbar macht. Endloser Abgang und Nachgeschmack.

Very spicy, bitter and rich of flavours like cocoa, dark fruits, pencil, cigar, oak.. quite complex! Alcohol less integrated given low ABV, it is too sharp for me at this price level, but overall very good rum

Eventhough the first nose seemed nice there was really not much going on. On the palett this was rather disappointing with way too much alcohol and nothing besides a little wood. It's finished. It's just wood and bitterness without any resemblance of taste
