Last rum tasting for this year and then it's also my 500th rum! I rock that neat with something rare and good ... an 86 Rockley 🤩Nose: fantastic mix of spicy-sweet honey, delicate honeycomb, wax and medicinal notes with some iodine and brine. Behind that some orange zest and then slightly woody and smoky. All well balanced and round. 94Palate: very round, salty and spicy. Again this slightly medicinal with some iodine. Slightly woody-smoky with vanilla and fine honey in honeycomb. 92It's all the subtle nuances that make a Rockley and the unique profile that won't be seen again. Must definitely try again. With a little more rest!

Tasting from 2016 with good friends in Munich. A great WIRD release with almost perfect harmony between the elements and great ABV integration. Fruity and despite the age the wood is not dominant. I really like the smoky touch though it's light. Very nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has honey and nut flavours.

Braucht am Meisten Zeit von den top 1986ern. Die belohnt er aber mit einer hammer Nase und einem super Gaumen. Leider etwas zu lasch im Vergleich zu SS und RA

Rockley essence at top level, but in direct comparison with the even older representatives of Rum Artesanal and Silver Seal, the bottling almost seems a little diluted to me. However, this is only noticeable in direct comparison, as a top rating is absolutely deserved here too. A great release, but not the King of Rockley in my list.

Teil 7/8 unseres 1986er Rockley Tastings: Duncan Taylor: deutlich medizinischer & rauchiger wie der Silver seal, weniger Frucht, etwas weniger süffig und etwas weniger von der Rockley DNA die ich persönlich geil finde. auch im Abgang viel kürzer leider. guter Stoff, keine Frage aber der Silver Seal & der RA gewinnen für mich im Vergleich, da sie deutlich harmonischer & komplexer sind und einen längeren Abgang haben bzw generell mehr zu bieten meiner Meinung nach! 🙏🇧🇧

"I found it a little fresher than the Artesanal rum, but this was a little more complex and mature. With both bottlings, it is amazing how ingeniously alcohol can be integrated into a rum."
