Aroma visualization from community tastings
Ron Aldea Maestro 2006
Sweet vanilla and caramel up front, with a faint grassy edge that hints at its cane-juice origin, then a short, slightly hot finish at 40%. An agricole from the Canaries that most members find mild and a touch one-dimensional — pleasant enough, but several note it "rather sweet" with what tastes like added sugar. Better in a glass of cola than under a spotlight.
- Easy and mild
- Fresh fruity notes
- Decent mixer

I’m not impressed. I’ve expected more of a rum based on sugar cane juice distilled in a pot still. The flavors shows up late and especially during the quite short finish. It’s rather sweet, probably some added sugar, with some spiciness and some floral notes.

Bottle Market Bremen Oktober 2024. Zum Abschluss ein Ron Aldea von den Kanaren. Kein wirklich guter Rum.

A bit artificial, nothing spectacular.

Irgendwie langweilig.

"It's a definite easy sipper, some may say it would make a good starter rum. I wouldn't as it's just bland and inoffensive. As a mixer it does okay it makes a so-so rum and coke but it doesn't have anywhere near enough character to make me want to use..."Read full review →
