Panama fans looking for something weird will get a kick out of this one. It's smoky and dirty with burnt cola, rubber, bacon and burnt-sugar notes over caramel and vanilla, with roasted nuts and prunes. Several tasters double-checked it was really Panama, and one even reached for a Caroni comparison. Medium body, long dry finish. Not hugely complex, but genuinely different.

Very unusual Panama! Funky, dirty and intense after cola crackers, bacon, burnt rubber, bicycle inner tube and spices like allspice and star anise.... Almost reminds me of Caroni somehow?! I like exceptionally well and is finally times what else from Panama.

8,3:On the nose, the first impression we get comes from very roasted wood with burnt sugar, nuts, spicy vanilla and a molasses with tobacco.Dried fruits are joining after a few seconds with prunes and raisins, as the wood is smoky. On aeration, the picture looks more impressive, round with banana, dried apricots, pears, roasted notes with caramel, pancetta, baking spices and pecans, coming from bourbon ageing. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is very tasty with now charred wood notes like caramel, nuts, burnt sugar, spicy vanilla, black pepper, oily with a help of dried apricots, raisins.After resting, toasted coconut shows up, molasses with tobacco and tea, then sweet peaches, prunes and pears. 8,4:The finish is long, dry, with less charred wood notes, smoky, a bacon shows itself, there are more brown notes with sugar and cola, then spicy with nutmeg, less fruity with raisins, toasted coconut... I like the intense nose and palate of this rum. There is nice wood in the profile without it being too dominant. The chocolate on the finish is more obvious in the empty glass.

The nose is pleasant. An unsweetened ron on vanilla, caramel, different nuts. In the mouth it's good but it lacks complexity for my taste. It's very caramel vanilla brown sugar. Thanks Adrian.

I really didn't expect this. I double-checked to make sure it was really a panama rum, because I've never had a panama like this before. Technical notes that I'm more familiar with from teinidad. Roots and wood. Taste and aroma and a great finish. Very nice.

On the nose, it's smoky, with occasional hints of burnt rubber, cocoa and a hint of vichy pastille, the alcohol no doubt. I also have bacon. Haha excellent. On the palate, it has a nice density while remaining hyper sweet, it's lightly fruity, quite spicy. A fine rum that lacks a little complexity on the palate, but for the price you can't ask too much.

Very good column still rum, some here have said is atypical of the Panamanian style. Lots going on here; love the dirty rubbery notes which adds a layour of complexity to the chocolate/nougart and unusual burnt cola flavours. The rum is mouthcoating, texture is medium body with a long, very drying finish. The wood is present with a lingering bitter sweet aftertaste of more cola and florals. 57% is a nice sipping strength. This is dangerously drinkable!
