How does Licores Veracruz Mocambo 20 Years Edición de Arte taste?
Aggregated from 92 community reviews.
Sweet, woody Mexican cigar companion An approachable, long-aged Mexican-style sipper with sweet sherry, dark chocolate, dried fruits and plenty of wood. RumX members find it pleasant yet quite thin, best enjoyed neat with a cigar or as a relaxed evening pour.
Drinkers who like sweet, sherry‑tinged, chocolatey rums with strong wood notes and low ABV, especially as an easy sipper alongside a cigar or as a relaxed evening dram.
Those seeking high complexity, higher ABV intensity, or a dry, unsweet, non‑woody profile; fans of funky pot still or agricole styles will likely be underwhelmed.

Delicious, really good for an average rum. For the fact that the Advent calendar was so cheap, I can really taste the dark chocolate. Otherwise you can't say anything against this rum. Recommended.

For me one of the best Mexican I have ever drunk

24 Days of Rum, Blue Edition, Day 22 The 20 years in the barrel reveal their aromas as soon as they are poured. Heavy, spicy, sweet, dried fruit, raisin, coffee, dark chocolate wood, vanilla ... the full program in the nose and on the palate. The finish is also pleasantly rich and even a little fruity. A lovely after-work sipper.

Not bad in total. I think it is slightly strong but really it worth to taste.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Very solid rum with a cigar, strong tobacco, sherry and charred barrel notes and very drinkable, but could be a little drier. Nevertheless, one of the best representatives when it comes to long aged Mexican rums. I definitely like it better than the Villa Rica.

Almost pure black in color (e150 anyone?). Sour cherry. French oak. In taste lots of wood bitters. Very woody. Dry. Too light in alcohol. I wish this had more abv. Could have been something. Not bad though.

Quite spicy, lots of sherry and relatively thin.

Brown sugar, wood, raisins and chocolate on the nose. Tastes sweet. Vanilla and old wood. Raisins and dried fruit. A little smoky. Mildly bitter finish

Time to finish up 1423's "24 days of Christmas". A mexican rum at day 22, which has been aged for 20 years, and it gives it a little depth. The nose gave me hints of wood and hints of molasses. In the notes it gave off notes of dried fruits, and a lingering wood finish

Der musste Probiert werden, kannte noch keinen aus Mexiko. Ist aber nicht mein Fall. Ich habe ihn als sehr brennend empfunden.

Honestly this one is very weird. 👃 is something I cannot honestly describe it seems very synthetic, sour. 👅 is better, interesting with moderate spiciness with a lot of woody and burnt aromas with charted, burnt taste and peaty aromas prevailing on the short finish. In the end I am not a fan of this one but it is not entirely bad.

Sample no.22 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. Nose has a sweet and smoky wood kind of tone. Dries fruits and wine/sherry from the barrels. Palate has the same wine notes that takes over a little bit too much. Would have liked a bit more of the fruits and spices.

"Now, here is a rum that i understand. There is a nice Sherry and Spice thing going on. And eenthough i find it very watered down and thin on the palate. I can understand that soething like that probably goes nicely alongside a cigar."
