Good rum. The years of barrel aging are not many, so the rum's aromas are not covered by vanilla, quite the opposite. It's fairly dry but fruity and spicy. Rounded and everything very well integrated.

Diamond Distillery - Guyana Compagnie des Indes Distilled: 05.2010 Bottled: 11.2018 Aged 8 Years DDL Port Mourant Still 43% Cask No. GPM 52 One of 387 Bottles Molasses Rum Color: White wine Smell: Sweet with lots of esters. Smells like fermented apples and pears. Also stinks of rot and cow patties. After standing for a while, aromas of apple and pear juice come through with some sugarcane juice. Also green twigs and grass. Taste: Absolutely does not taste good! Watery in the mouth with very little flavor. After swallowing dry, spicy, woody with sandalwood. Also has a weak unpleasant aftertaste. Finish: Very dry, also earthy, spicy and not very intense. Bitter and woody in the aftertaste. Conclusion: After Belize, the second disappointment from CDI in a row. My wife and I did not like this one at all. Unpleasant smell, bitter taste. 65 points

Nose of solvents, palate of solvents with light cream notes. Alcohol not integrated. It's very average.
