Skeldon S.B.S Selected and bottled for The Nectar SWR 2001
"Now this is a demerara," one taster sighed, and that's the mood: a 20-year Skeldon column-still that needs 15 minutes in the glass to bloom into roasted nuts, dark chocolate, leather, coffee and dried fruit, with caramel sweetness underneath. The recurring catch is the 55.7% heat — several found the alcohol not quite tucked in. Give it air and patience.
- Roasted nut depth
- Dried fruit, chocolate
- Long balanced finish

How does Skeldon S.B.S Selected and bottled for The Nectar SWR 2001 taste?
Aggregated from 63 community reviews.
Roasty, nutty 20-year Demerara that rewards air A genuinely loved old Skeldon — roasty, fruity, leathery and balanced. Most quibble only that the alcohol could be better integrated, and it sharpens with a long rest.

Now this is a demerara Rum, wow.If you rest this one for 15 minutes you're going to be in roasted nutty heaven. The roasted oak is heavy from nose to finish without being too dominant. Wonderfully balanced in its complexity.Spice, licorice and chocolate envelopes this to create a perfect harmony on your palate.Great rum unfortunately also not on my shelves.

Had a small tasting today in the company of Mr. Joshua Singh himself. Great stuff ❤️

Alcohol is not optimally integrated. Nevertheless, good Skeldon.

Unfortunately, alcohol clearly too superficial. Pity.Update 2021-11-23: Much better impression! Daily form rules. 😊

Tasted with the 2001 Nobilis Swr, the SBS 2001 21yo SWR and the 2001 Nectar ... this one is just ahead of the SBS 21yo and the Nobilis as my favorite.

Slightly too saucy

Very identical to the VM SWR. Slightly stronger alcohol leads to a slightly fuller mouthfeel. Slightly smokier. Very nice rum with a pronounced hazelnut note.

Curious to see how it evolves after a few months. Needs more ventilation
