Overripe pineapple, banana and that classic Hampden glue-and-butter funk pour straight out of the glass. One taster nailed the sweeter side as "süßes Bananenbrot," with marzipan, citrus marmalade and a touch of oak behind it. At 66.5% it runs hot and a little astringent, turning slightly bitter and medicinal on the finish — wild and squared-off, exactly what high-ester fans chase.

That's right up my street ... Jamaica-Funk 👍🏻 So, today again the special release in the glass... and yes, the Jamaica Funk is still there, wild and boisterous... there are certainly more balanced Hampden, but I like this angular, edgy aroma... which immediately captivates you... funk 😁

What a great bottling. From the beginning to the end. Nose: All the classic hampden notes, with a high impact of ester 🤤🤤🤤 Mouth: Here i found some really lovely notes of marmelade. Really delicious. The finish is quite long fruity and dry🤤🤤 The alcohol could be integrated better

Not much to highlight about the smell: very typical Highester Hampden. I find the butter note quite pronounced here. On the palate a slight bitterness, but it fits well into the overall picture. The first sip is, as always with this mark, intense and the alcohol contributes to that. In the aftertaste the bitterness comes out a bit more. A very good rum! I especially like it because of its buttery quality, which somehow always reminds me of rancid butter 😉

tasted together with the Flensburg JMC HD 2007 / 12 years. It's really hard to tell the difference. On the palate, the 14 year old is perhaps a bit rounder (especially on the finish) but these are minimal nuances. In any case, both hit exactly what for me is the quintessence of high Ester Hampdens, the fat buttery fermented notes 😋.

I consider myself very lucky to have tried this very special release as only 125 bottles were made. A very funky Jamaican eminating from the glass especially after resting for 15 minutes. Funky on the nose yet fresh and fruity at the same time. The palate is well balanced and funky with a touch of barrel and marzipan. The finish is very as in very long with tropical fruits, vanilla and a hint of barrel.

Crass. Clearly better and fruity and less sour like the other Flensburg Hampden. Very intense strawberry, banana milkshake, citrus jam and marzipan/liquid cookie dough. Alcohol is extremely well integrated and has hardly any disturbing elements. Incredibly tasty and complex and yet very drinkable! I would have liked to get hold of the GRF :( For me, one of the best C<>H I've ever had, especially at this incredibly good PLV!

brought from the 10th GRF in Berlin 😊Nose: intense esters, fruit vinegar, it seems fresh and young, despite the 14 years, lemon and lime along with fermented pineapple and banana. Sweetness of maple syrup and honey with a little vanilla. Back a bit towards orange and almond.Palate: astringent at the start. nice funky and intense esters. right back the pineapple and banana with lemon marmalade. Back out almond and a little bitternd.Again a nice representative of a C<>H with the one the >66% at the end hardly feels.

I tasted the Flensburg as part of a small private Hampden tasting. It is very direct with lots of esters and glue notes. I found The Duchess with the same data to be more balanced. Still, it’s really good and among the top 2007 C<>H releases.

Once again a very tasty 2007 Hampden. Nothing to complain about from my side. Unfortunately, I only had one sample of it. It would have been interesting to see how it performed back then in our 2007 comparison tasting.

At the nose, the typical markers with plenty of esters, tropical fruits, glue, buttery notes, yogurt and marzipan. Also intense on the palate. Overall a very good representative of the 2007 HDs. Price-performance ratio was very good here!

I rated this bottling the same as RX7168. From my memory, little difference. Remains for me a great Hampden with borderline wood note (that’s all I need). But the wood note with the fruit notes, esters, slight sweetness, spiciness, citrus note, vanilla. That’s already harmonious. Even if the alcohol could have been better integrated.

Brought from the 10th GRF: C<>H is a marrow that I like (Badumm tss). Very powerful and creamy, and with the aroma typical of this pith. There's the typical Hampden flavors, and especially the acid-heavy component that eventually even crosses over into bitterness a bit. To the Hampden fruit basket come here marzipan and almond, perhaps some maple syrup and anise.Not least for the price a good bottling, which for me, however, stands behind the sister from the same house.

Great stuff! Fruity ester nose, intense but well balanced. On the palate the same, here a bit sweeter with a pleasant banana note. In the finish, something medicinal settles on the tongue, interesting but not disturbing. Jamaica/Hampden at a very high level.

Sweeter than the Flensburg JMC aged 2 years shorter. The nose is milder here the taste tilts slightly towards barrel influence and vanilla. More citrus than in the old C<>H.

Nice ester profile, full-mouth Hampden style and thus not for the delicate crowd. Grilled pineapple is there, yellow fruits, a bit of vanilla and red fruits at the end. Alcohol could be better integrated.

Nose already very similar to the slightly younger Flensburg 2007 - a little fresher perhaps.Taste sweeter ind strongly reminiscent of popcorn... of course, always in the context of a fat Jamaican.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

On the nose full power Hampden. Fruit basket at its finest. On the palate, it immediately stands out that the 66% does not show at all. Really well integrated alcohol. Awesome stuff. I love it. Great bottling. I wish I had taken a bottle back then.

I have now rather cautiously rated this rum with 88 points. This is solely because I still lack reference points. When Johannes eventually gives me a 1990 bottling as a sample, I'll know more. Personally, I already found the rum very good at the 10th GRF. The more often I drink it, the better and more addicted I become. Very intense nose that conveys this Hampden typical "buttery" and overripe banana. Despite about 66% very drinkable. Simply delicious!

Very agreeable. I already know why C<>H is one of my favorites. Very fruity, gets quite sweet and stays long in the throat on the finish, then as sweet banana bread. Ahh. Ester. Something so fine.
