Roasted, smoky wood from twenty years in the barrel meets glue-tinged esters and pineapple — this is a demanding, full-throttle Fiji at cask strength. On the nose, tomato, spices, palstic On the palate: Chocolate, dry, raisins, spicy, complex, balanced, sweet, tropical fruit, sugar Finish: Get. Apricots, tobacco, black tea, peach, Super overall combination, good finish. Nice representative of the vintage.

Great complex overall package - 2001 Fiji in pure form, citrus fruits, tea, wood, smoke, spices; an exquisite release that can compete in the upper class of Fiji releases I know. Demanding, intense - a wide spectrum of aromas plays out, overall a very good release!

After resting this rum for a while it releases very nice flavours. The ABV is well integrated and you get the roasted/smoky wood notes from the long aging. Lightly fruity with a nice touch of esters and vanilla/caramel. Very long and dry finish. Price to quality is OK in my mind.

Wow, really wow. I’ve never had such a drastic shift from dried fruits to tropical fruits on the palate before. Perfectly balanced are fruits, esters, wood and spices, which vary strongly from nose to finish. For me the best Fiji rum I’ve had in the glass!

Fiji 2001 as it stands in the book. The alcohol could be much better integrated though. Otherwise, you find all typical markers here like burnt plastic, smoke, peach, and tea, as well as paradoxically even dried tomato and pineapple with cocoa. Very wild number but doesn't play in the Champions League of 2001 vintages.

Very intense rum. You recognize the Fiji and its very particular aromas: esters, fruits, a smoky side and a metallic hint. Combined with some indulgent notes, it's a rum that can be appreciated after good aeration.
