Someone dipping a toe into Jamaican rum without going full funk-bomb is the target here. It's a 40% blend of Worthy Park, Monymusk, Hampden and New Yarmouth marks, so you get real tropical fruit — papaya, mango, a little coconut and honey — with a mild hogo underneath. One taster found more fruit and kick than Appleton Signature, but noted a front-end harshness and a slightly furry aftertaste.

Compared to Appleton Signature this has a lot more Jamaican hogo and fruit, but it’s not quite as smooth. There is some harshness on the front end. Nonetheless it’s a soft “bite” that is gone by the finish making it overall pleasant to sip. Much fuller flavor than Appleton Sig. This appears to be a better choice for a mixing rum if you are looking for rum forward cocktails with a Jamaican kick, without having to mix in a more funky example (Wray/Nephew, Smith/Cross, Dr Bird, etc.) to get there. Long finish with some wood.

Slightly sweetened good rum for 30e ... Hampden, legendarni jamajska destilerka, ktera krome rumu produkuje take alkohol do parfemu. Ve vsech rumech z teto destilerky ucitite divoke estery, po kterych cely vas organizmus nasakne vuni zluteho tropickeho ovoce - manga, papaji, anansu, broskvi. Good Jamaica entry-level blend! For 25€ more than fair with Worthy Park, monymusk, Hampden and new Yarmouth parts. Could just have more % and a little more depth. But you can buy it without hesitation for the money.
