Agricole drinkers looking for a cask-strength La Favorite will find plenty here: cane grass, dried apricot and candied fruit, with cinnamon and baked-apple spice that reads almost like a winter market. Next sample from a buddy. To be honest, I had higher expectations here. You can smell candidates and dried fruit on the nose. Then the same on the palate. Somehow it has a rough taste and is very alcoholic.

Typical notes of an agricole on the nose. Sugar cane juice, grassy notes, vanilla, some grape. Relatively fresh and young. Still fairly round on the palate with lots of floral/flowery aromas. Creamy/oily mouthfeel. Thanks @chris2302 for the sample!

Extremely spicy Agricole. Sugar cane notes I do not find here. In the finish earthy herbal notes that remind me more of Guyana. Lots of nut. Lots of salt. Alcohol is too noticeable for my taste.

Very nice Agricole with complex aromas on the palate. Very pleasant with beautiful floral/earthy notes. The finish feels like it lasts forever. Very great. Maybe just a bit too sweet. The next tasting will show.

A young rhum agricole with very pronounced vegetal notes. A woody note is then added, especially in the finish. I was missing a counterpart to the dominant grassy/vegetable notes. Little sweetness or fruit.

Can't play at the top (with La Flibuste & Co), but in any case an interesting La Favorite, also because it's a cask strength...on the nose, besides earthy and green notes, mainly winter spices, baked apple and cream candy. On the palate rather grassy-peppery and clove.

Here, meadow flowers and grain fields shake hands. A rum for nature lovers. Tasting number two: Agricole is definitely an acquired taste, and this one is very agricole. By now I definitely like it better.

Thinking about the age of this rum they really picked the right barrel to bottle. The smoothness of La Favorite is there alongside the Agricole notes and some dried fruit and candy notes. Light wood on the profile and nice spices. Price to quality is very good.

Good Agricole with nice herbal notes, better than some single casks from Saint James and the like. Some wood and green, spices, herb garden, alcohol is reasonably integrated. Quite enjoyable.

Perhaps I should have drunk this rum in winter rather than at 30 degrees in summer. At least it tastes slightly like a Christmas market. Candied fruit meets baked apple and almonds. All in all, not wrong

At first, a great nice sweetness... fills the whole mouth... then the typical grassy agricole taste comes through but relatively subtle, nicely fruity fresh without being intrusive... I like it.

Predominantly floral-spicy, strong cask influence and somehow different. This only four-year-old Agricole simply has its own charm. (It also crossed the Atlantic with Tres Hombres) On the nose cinnamon and tea, on the palate nicely salty, slightly fruity and a bit sweet, showing its youth. Definitely a nice sipping rum.

Besides the ever-present fruit note of dried apricots, herbs show with a slightly soapy hint of coriander leaves, spices, a cedar-like woodiness, and after long chewing also fine nuances of tropical fruits. Unfortunately, it sometimes stings a bit alcoholic in the mouth and in the aftertaste the oak becomes a bit too musty and moldy for me, but otherwise there are some nice things to discover here.

Young agricole, the taste of baked apple, candied fruit and cinnamon stands out a lot. Clear agricole origin. At the end, young grassiness remains in the mouth and it reminds a lot of other La Favorite releases. It lacks time in the barrel for fullness and more complex flavors.

On the nose for me initially atypical for an Agricole. No grass, but red wine. On the palate then the typical grassy, fresh aromas come through. Stays spicy-roasty and salty on the finish.

On the nose a bit of apple, but also light yellow fruits. On the palate then very fruity, almost a whole orchard of light yellow fruits like mirabelles and with very slight grassy aromas in the background. The alcohol is very well integrated, in the finish then slight caramel and again grassy aromas. For my taste a very tasty thing, many thanks to Chris for the Secret Santa sample! I probably wouldn't buy a whole bottle, but I'm glad I could try it and look forward to more releases from La Favorite.

Typical hearty fresh agricole aroma, sugar cane, nutmeg. Very delicious body in taste. Very nice mix of agricole with fruit. Finish fairly spicy, herbal with pepper and nuts, woody. Overall quite a successful piece.
