Perola Enmore Bellamy‘s Reserve REV 1994
Anyone curious about Enmore's wooden-still REV profile will find this a clean way in. Dried prunes, leather, coffee and licorice run through a dry, woody core, with dark chocolate and black tea on the palate. At 46.2% it drinks easy and stays surprisingly complex, though a few tasters wished it had more "power" behind the flavor.
- Balanced and elegant
- Dried fruit depth
- Easy at strength

How does Perola Enmore Bellamy‘s Reserve REV 1994 taste?
Aggregated from 58 community reviews.
Dry, woody Enmore with prunes and coffee Loved across the board as a balanced, elegant 27-year Enmore. The honest catch: the reduced strength leaves some finding it a touch thin and short on punch.

Because of the low alcohol strength I was cautious but already the nose shows strong with red fruits from a green forest in which you can smell the resin of the trees. On the palate, a fruity REV with pleasant wood notes and some mocha. The finish is then supplemented by black tea and delicious fruit bread, among other things.

Very good, tasty with some notes of liquorice/mint Enmore REV. Pleasant to drink. Leather, Tobacco, black tea, wood, dried fruits, some notes of grapefruit and schnaps in the nose. Complex and very delicious in mouth, where you‘ll find all the tastes from before. Furthermore you will notice some nice notes of mint, coffe and liquorice. Finish is medium long, dry and very elegant. I really like this a lot! Alcohol is integrated very well. On one level with the RA 2020, -1 point because of the schnaps taste which i don‘t like it much. 2nd place of my enmore tasting!"

Ausgezeichneter Rum! Fantastisch!!!

This is once again a board! Fantastic REV (MER) 94-Enmore, which is compared to the RA "woodier" but in a pleasant way!

Very good barrel was selected here!!! Always delicious🤤

A first class rum...from the nose to the finish just good! Despite the low alcohol strength a strong intense continuous presence...only the fruit note as in the RA is missing....
Review by Oliver
Very intense nose with lots of prunes and licorice. Extremely tasty Enmore on the palate! Very dry, little fruit. The reduced drinking strength is perfect. Very round and balanced. A perfect introduction to the world of REV.

Compared to other ‘94 REVs the nose is somewhat lighter but feels also more balanced and round. I get figs and some persistent glue notes. Also: Teriakyi Sauce and herbs. On the palate it also feels a little lighter, but again balances fruits versus herbs rather nicely. Most bitter finish of the batch, however.

Fantastic rum! Slightly thinner in comparison, less fruity, a little more bitterness/wood. Really good!

Blind tasting. The nose is great. Candied prunes, old barrels, cooked sugar, a resinous note. Reminds me of a REV Versailles. On the palate, Pruneau and burnt sugar confirm my impression. The alcohol is sweet, super pleasant. A very good Guyana.

When this rum was released the price to quality was extremely good. It's hard to find now because of the limited amount of bottles. The nose is there as soon as you pour it into the glass. Very fruity with heavy roasted oak notes without the oak being too dominant. A very intense nose that also has floral and coffee notes after resting. The palate is equally intense as well as complex and very well balanced. The roasted oak is there from the start, again without being too intense. There's a very nice fruity note with floral and minty notes. In the back i find a medicinal note. The finish is very long and also intense in a way with oak, fruits and licorice. I can detect a light smoke in the finish. A very good rum that you should give a try if possible.

Super ingenious nose, simply to fall in love with and for me right up there with the 94 REVs. Very intense on the palate despite the low ABV. In addition to many roasted and spicy aromas, it also has a subtle fruitiness (dried plum). Really good Enmore!

Nose: slightly medicinal, lots of wood, some licorice, cassis, blackberry, fruit bread, some mint, & floral coffee, grapefruit peel, very complex and concentrated, a lot of fun to smell!!! Taste: bitter, strong, woody, iodine & licorice, astringent, tannins, furry, slightly acidic, strong mocha, dark blackberries, some lavender, dark chocolate with >90%, at the very end really thick and intense cassis + blackberry with some mint! very cool, not too bitter or woody, very balanced! And an almost eternal finish despite the relatively low alcohol content. :)

heavy spice, the herb and coffee(maybe tobacco) notes are very impressive. dry and tannins but easy to drink. drinkable one, intense for 46v.

Wonderful Bellamy bottling! I like it very much! Despite the reduced drinking strength, still extremely complex, surprising. Nevertheless, complexity is lost here. Very round and balanced.
Review by Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓
Unfortunately, 4 points devaluation compared to previous rating to still very good 88 points after parallel tasting of RX12549 (see reasoning there).
