Selten habe ich einen Rum genossen, der so klar drei Stufen mit klar unterschiedlichen Charakteristiken geboten hat. Zuerst, an der Nase, erinnert der Rum an ungelagerten Rhum Agricole oder Cachaca mit süßen Noten von Banane und Gras. Da das ja quasi seine Basis ist, kommt das nicht überraschend, aber dennoch bietet der Geruch eine gute Einstimmung darauf, was noch kommen wird. Auf der Zunge setzt sich der Eindruck von der Nase fort, aber die Fass-Noten kommen erst hier wirklich durch. Etwas Vanille und Holz sind deutlich erkennbar und geben den leichten Noten, die ich schon an der Nase wahrnehmen konnte, mehr Körper und Tiefe. Im relativ langen Abgang kommt für mich dann die größte Überraschung, denn hier erinnert mich der Renegade eher an einen guten Obstbrand aus Äpfeln oder Birnen denn an Rum. Das war wirklich unerwartet, aber ein toller Abschluss für das Erlebnis, das dieses Sample geboten hat. Ich habe mich lange nicht von einem Rum so gut unterhalten gefühlt, der trotzdem nicht “anstrengend” war beim probieren. Ob nebenbei oder mit viel Konzentration - dieser Rum ist ein absoluter Knaller in meinen Augen :-)

What can I say. Very special, like everything from Renegade. Fortunately not smoky this time. Lots of sugar cane and citrus. Some tropical fruit. Dry, maybe some lime. Grassy and a bit medicinal. A great but special rum. Perfect for a TiPunch.

This is from the latest release and I was very surprised about the fresh fruity nose and palate. Very balanced and only lightly dry. Just leaving it to rest will release very nice flavours from the glass. Price to quality is very good.

"Une finale un poil courte mais c’est un rhum que j’ai apprécié. Très épais, très sucré, une trame d’Olivie et de fruits, un bon poivre pour relevé la bouche… Attention à bien le laisser respirer ! En resume, mes notes de degutation : Au nez : Canne à sucre, Fermenté, Fruits tropicaux, Olive En bouche : Canne à sucre, Poivré, Marmelade, Herbe, Terreux La finale plutot orientee vers : Vert, Fruits, Noix"

Gefällt mir im Vergleich mit dem old Bacolet etwas besser, hat irgendwie mehr Power 😁 Das Tasting dieser Pre-Casks Reihe kann ich nur empfehlen!

Compared this to the Old Bacolet. Nose is a bit more shy but the taste makes up for it. A pleasant mouthcoating dryness. More flavourfull. Old school IPA bitterness. Nice. Few point better than its sibling. I did like the "copper" in the other one though.

2nd sample in the pre-cask project.Nose: again fruit esters, but actually a little less honey sweetness and less intense sweet fruit, more towards blackberry more hayPalate: more compact than the old Bakolet. Not quite as dry thereby more acidic and mineral and draws more bitter after. Again hay out the back but the fruit essence is missing.But clearly different, although the growing area is so close to.

Impressive agricole. Packs a lot of different tastes. Long aftertaste. Apple, pear, sugar but in a very difficult combo. Not for beginners. I like it but I have better agricole. But still very nice and worthy agricole.
