Burnt rubber, tar and iodine lead the way, with cinnamon, chocolate and ripe fruit filling in behind — all the dirty workshop notes people chase from this closed Trinidad distillery. At 62.5% the alcohol sits surprisingly well integrated. Despite 20 years it stays light on oak, which keeps the funk front and center.

Despite the age this rum has very little wood to it, not a bad thing perse because all the dirty Caroni notes are there. The nose is fruity with spices and all the lovely Caroni flavours; rubber and tar. In the back i also get medicinal notes and caramel. The palate takes off where the nose left off. Spicy with fruit, spices and then rubber and tar. After resting there is even more flavours, chocolate, light earthy and medicinal notes. The finish is long with tropical fruits, spices, tobacco and light menthol notes. A lovely Caroni with a twist.

A great Caroni, spicy, nutty, roasted aromas, slightly sweet on the finish, I really like it. The price-performance ratio is also top, with a good network you can get it for under 300, which is perfectly fine for the quality, at least for me.

Very round and balanced Caroni with a very classic profile. Caramelized banana, milk chocolate, cinnamon, dirty smoky notes, burnt rubber, some menthol and vanilla. Very well integrated alcohol! Surprisingly delicious!

Ve vůni hezký mix technických tónů, hlavně guma a nemocnice, v kombinaci s lehkou vůni vanilky, pepře, skořice a ovoce. Chuťově je hlavně cítit koření, pepř a ovoce, ale pak následuje velmi povedený technicko pepřový závěr.
