Plantation Saint Lucia (LMDW) 2010
Orange peel, menthol and a whiff of plasticine on the nose, then a fruity-but-spicy palate with roasted notes, herbs and a little licorice. Several tasters call it round and "on the fruity side," a Saint Lucia pot still that stays balanced. The common gripe: it can read thin on entry and the finish runs short for some. Pleasant and well-made rather than a knockout.

How does Plantation Saint Lucia (LMDW) 2010 taste?
Aggregated from 28 community reviews.
Rounded, fruity Saint Lucia pot still Most land around 8/10: a rounded, fruity Saint Lucia with orange, herbs and roast. The catch a few note is a thin entry and short finish, and some wish for more ABV punch.

Plantation Saint Lucia 2010 Conquest 53.2%, 312 bottles : The nose is immediately very seductive, reminding me of the Single Cask Saint Lucia that was available at Château de Bonbonnet. Sweet, fruity, unctuous. After opening, it's even fruitier. The attack is a little lively, then it becomes oily. It reminds me of apricot, caramel and mango. It's good and very greedy. The finish is very long, yet soft and greedy. Nice, good bottle. Battle Plantation Single Cask 2021 Saint Lucia 2010 LMDW Conquest 53.2% VS Saint Lucia 2007 The Nectar 60.2% : The 2007 is a column still, while the 2010 is a pot still. One week of fermentation for both, 156 g/HL AA of esters for the former, 160 for the latter, 545 g/HL AA of volatile compounds for the former, 771 for the latter. It's hard to tell them apart, as they're so similar on the nose and palate. The same markers are present, and the column still is no match for the pot still. On the contrary, the extra 7 degrees make the 2007 a little deeper. I wouldn't pick a winner, but if someone new to Saint Lucia had to taste one of the two, I'd go for the 2010, a little more accessible, while for someone already initiated, it would be the 2007. A close match, but both very good juices.

Good St. Lucia tradition rum, both three bottles of the LMDW-selected are fascinating, I think this one and the MMW 1994 was underestimated.

19.11.2021 Celebrating my birthday at a bygone local bar with dinner as part of the experience. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, orange, light herbs, light mint, fruity. Palate Oily, wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, orange, faint herbs, light mint, light medicinal, faint salt, olive. Finish Medium to long, wood, spice, orange, faint chocolate, light licorice, light salty.

Nose very fruity fresh slightly floral grassy notes. Orange and citrus fruits and some 😯 plasticine😯leather and light menthol. Interesting and delicious. Sobering on the palate at first... then a peppery fruitiness spreads slightly floral and flowery and a little perfumed, a little menthol. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Finish very short unfortunately.

The Saint Lucia is more on the fruity side. Basically, however, it also has all the aromas you would expect. Nice and round. Still, not really a highlight, I've had better ones in my glass.

On the nose still relatively fruity, in the taste then primarily roasted aromas, slightly salty, a little woody pear, spices such as ginger, green pepper and nutmeg, a lot of herbs such as sage and thyme and overall I lack the fruitiness here and he is also too woody and dry for me. For this he gets in the finish again a nice funky note with purely what has given him a few points more.

Alcool et boisé assez présent malgré une belle rondeur. S'efface assez vite.
