This is yet another release from the Tributo series and again a wonderful rum. I love the box it comes in. Complex and very well balanced with a bit of dried fruit and spices topped off with oak and tobacco. Very well done and it may be a bit expensive but it is also limited to 2500 bottles worldwide.

Very beautiful, red-golden color, very oily for 40%. Earthy, tobacco, dried fruit and then dairy products (curd or chème). A very warm, above all soft nose. Fragrant, no corners. Much more wood and coffee emerge in the mouth, otherwise tobacco and dried fruit again. On the edge of wateriness, lacking in power. If there is, then not too much sugar has been added. A difficult assessment, also in view of the expectations raised by the price. It tastes excellent, it was produced with a high level of craftsmanship. A well-filled glass with a cigar - very welcome. But 10% more would clearly not have hurt and it lacks that certain something.

The Tributo 21 comes along quietly (I had to stick my nose deep into the glass to catch everything), but what comes next is first-class Spanish style, cream candy, tobacco, slightly sour (currants), cask, all wonderfully soft in the interplay. Similarly soft on the palate, malty, caramel, tobacco, café au lait. And it also goes well with the cigar, as I discovered with the second sample...
