The grassy agricole nose you'd expect takes a back seat here — what lands is wood, black pepper and toasted, almost coffee-and-cigar notes over ripe banana. Nine and a half years in cask gives it a dry, spice-driven character with a long finish. Several tasters call it rich but a touch disjointed, with fruit, oak and alcohol sitting a little apart until it opens up.

18.12.2021 Participating in a nice tasting given to me as a present. Nice hotel in a very central location. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint roaster, floral, light grass, floral, faint honey. Palate Round, fresh, light wood, naturally sweet, light grass, faint caramel, light nuts, light citrus. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, fruits, citrus.

A rum in which a lot is happening. Unfortunately, it is not well balanced. It's like having the fruits on one side, the wood on the other and the alcohol a bit further away. Shame... Another tasting: Time has allowed the rum to be more coherent. However, the result is still not quite to my taste. Moreover, the alcohol does not seem perfectly integrated. It's a shame, you can feel this bottle has potential...

Moving on. Agricole power from the Caribbean. Really tasty. Nose is typical Agricole. Plants, garden, etc. Whatever, main thing is a nice cinnamon taste on the palate, otherwise quite decent rum.

A very good agricole rum with the woody side immediately standing out on the nose. On the palate, the woody and peppery aromas reveal themselves, there is also a smoky side almost like a cigar taste that emerges in the background. The finish is long. Very good choice.

This aged rum offers a very beautiful aromatic richness on the nose and palate. It is a rum of great subtlety after resting and shows a strong character on spices, woodiness and fruitiness. Delicate on the nose and palate, despite a dry side it has a deep aromatic palette, a sign of excellent work by La Favorite. The finish is extraordinarily long and captivating with only one desire... to come back to it!

Nutty fruit, a spirit of overripe fruits, the barrel, some spices... a delight that slides smoothly on the tongue and calls for the next sip! A very nice La Favorite indeed.

Nice nose of black pepper, coffee and even toasted bread. On the palate, you find rather these empyreumatic aromas.

Tasted blind Advent calendar 2022: The nose is average, not very attractive. The palate is on the contrary very aromatic and surprising. The alcohol is very well integrated and the whole is powerful and round. Dominated by licorice, coffee, wood and cigar. A very good successful rum, but however not to my taste, hence the moderate rating, but it will please many other palates enormously, without a doubt.
