Best sipped neat or over one ice cube, this Guadeloupe agricole leans woody and fruity at once. Expect peach, plum and orange sitting on oak, leather and a peppery, cigar-box finish. Several tasters call it round and expressive, though at 40% a few find the wood dominant and the alcohol oddly present. One describes it as the younger brother of Flibuste.

A great Agricole with fantastic flavors that really explodes in your mouth. The nose is fruity and spicy. At the palate it’s complex, intense, round, fruity, spicy and sweet with flavors of licorice and sugarcane.

A surprising rum, very fruity on the nose, with peach (the fruit) standing out. On the palate, it's a little hot, but still very fruity, with peach and strawberry, almost artificial like a fruit brandy. It's a shame it's so diluted, but I like its fresh, fruity character. A rum with lots of freshness, very expressive. A thin but fairly long finish.

Last one for today, and wow, this one is really tasty again. Extremely woody on the nose, but also very fruity. On the palate, you can also taste the (tropical) fruits, but the wood is clearly noticeable too.

I don't get the chocolate note from the Vieux 7 here, otherwise a typical Agricole with a complex fruit experience, earthy/plant notes, and spicy wood. Above all, the herbal tea on the nose, which then reveals itself as mint in the aftertaste, must be mentioned. A bit too sharp and floral for my taste, but certainly a complex top rum!

Nice fruity-woody nose, with leather and a little licorice. A bit of slight mustiness also comes to the nose. Also in the mouth this musty-medicinal note again, with lots of wood, a little fruit, bitter and dry. For 40% the alcohol is quite present. An interesting drop, but not my taste.

First extremely pleasant mouthfeel, I can say I like it right away. You feel a fruity side at the beginning of the mouth then it turns woody, smoky with a frank cigar taste but transient. The alcohol is very well integrated, very just. An excellent rum. The finish is quite spicy, we have a very good moment. It really has a quite different taste from other aged ones, a pleasant atypical signature. You really feel an apple aroma! Very special.

Tasted as a sample. Nose: oak barrel, leather, caramel, cane, vanilla, spices, super expressive! Palate: woody, caramel, vanilla, leather/tobacco, slight pepper, good concentration, very round. Finish: wood markers, leather, cane, spices, slight cocoa. Empty glass: oak barrel, caramel, vanilla. A really good pure juice, quite accessible, very expressive for its 40 degrees. With a few more watts, it would be top! On the price side, it has undergone a big increase (like many). It was around 75€ in 2021, now 114€...

Caramel and light cough syrup. Maybe some plum. In the mouth this has a lot of complexity. Especially considering it's only 40% alcohol. Oak, some berry, more plum. A little pepper on the finish, which is pretty long. Pours dark golden. Sample thanks to Yaro.

On the nose a very beautiful rum with fruit and almond paste. The palate confirms the nose with roundness, cane sugar and fruit, a slight woody touch. A top rum in this price range.
