I like it really well! Wonderfully round with fruity and tropical woody notes.

I got a sample from each release yesterday and had to give them a go right away. The price tag on these is pretty high compared to the regular releases! The nose is well balanced and fruity with leather, flowers, ginger roasted coffee and light oak. The palate is complex, well balanced and warm with oak, nutmeg, citrus, coffee as well as light tea and nutty flavours. The finish is long with oak, vanilla, apricot, coffee and licorice. The price doesn't match the quality in my mind, but this is probably going to be a collectors item.

I find it surprisingly good.

Non sono amante dei Saint James, ma questo mi è piaciuto veramente tanto. Bevuta rotonda ed equilibrata.

Tobacco, spice, wood, herbs, some old demerara. The dilution is not a problem, the alcohol could be a tad better integrated. Only price and unavailability diminish the pleasure.
Review by Jakob
Great rum, which the drinking strength is very good to face. Very round and just as strong as varied in taste. Beats even in direct comparison with St. James bottlings with higher alcohol content excellent.

Typical St. James in best execution.unfortunately very expensive and hard to get. Similar quality you get without Velier already significantly cheaper.
Review by Rodolphe
Good Saint James. A little simple on the palate, lacking a touch of fruitiness. In short, this is the bottle you want for your collection, or will pass on given the price and the difficulty of obtaining it.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A Saint James that's quite distinctive. The nose opens with rather exotic fruity flavors, pastry notes, coffee, wood and more traditional spices to give a lovely bouquet. The palate has a more traditional profile, with spices, wood, dried fruit, coffee and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish, which lacks a little length, is tannic and bitter, caffeinated, spicy and slightly roasted. A far from bad rum, but lacking a little something extra to be truly top-notch. The price is unfortunately very high for the quality of the product.

not a bad St. James, but I've had better in the glass, with similar and zT less maturity, which were even more complex and deeper. This one still seems a little 'green behind the ears' for its 15 years.
