Velier Foursquare Elliott Erwitt 2005

8.8/10
Rated by Johannes, Tschusikowsky & 48 more

Sip this one neat and slow — at 61% it carries the heat well, with most tasters calling the alcohol beautifully integrated. Expect classic Barbados Foursquare: coconut, caramel, dark chocolate and vanilla, with cinnamon, licorice and a woody, slightly herbal edge. People who know the distillery rate this 2005 single-still highly; one even called it the best Foursquare he's tried.

Very good Foursquare. 2005 seems to be my FS vintage. Brings both depth and complexity, but is approachable and extremely fun to drink.

Very round Foursquare with classic flavor profile. Good alcohol integration, harmonious profile. Unfortunately lacks the unique selling point, although the quality is undeniably present.

100% foursquare pot a nice experience!Unlike blends fatter and oilier in the mouth but without losing the distinctive aromas that sets it apart!

Now this is a proper Foursquare, the price is still up there, but nonetheless a good rum. The nose is fruity and woody with spices, leather, chocolate and light herbal notes. The palate is complex and well balanced with wood, fruit, spices, licorice, caramel and light vegetal notes. The finish is long with wood, caramel, vanilla and orange.

A very tasty Foursquare. We find the classic Barbados register, with notes of tropical fruits, coconut, caramel, wood and sweet spices, with notes of glue and herbs in complement. The palate is buttery, very pastry-like, with notes of crème brûlée, caramel and chocolate. Aromas of cherry and orange peel mingle with the spicy framework. The finish continues on the same framework with a great length. A complex, balanced, elegant, very tasty and very greedy Foursquare.

He is indeed very very horny! Super gentle but full body! Classic FS profile, in perfection. The best FS for me, even in direct comparison with 2008, Shibboleth and Velier 2006
