Worthy Park Single Cask (LMDW) WPM 2007
Surprise here is the nose: overripe banana, peach-marmalade, marzipan and biscuits, with the usual Worthy Park glue dialed way back. Several tasters call it their best WP nose. The catch comes on the palate — tropical fruit, wood, leather and tea, but a couple feel it turns simpler and a touch sour after such a promising start. Still a complex, funky 14-year pot-still Jamaican.
- Layered banana nose
- Genuine WP funk
- Long spiced finish

How does Worthy Park Single Cask (LMDW) WPM 2007 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Stunner on the nose, simpler on the palate People rate the nose very highly — banana, peaches, biscuits — but a few find the palate doesn't quite keep up, going more linear and slightly sour. Funky, woody, a little hot.

Glue, banana bread, licorice, etc.. Very complex and interesting. Ursuper in the nose would say in Vienna. In the mouth it continues similarly. Crisp, funky, very complex. The alcohol stings a bit. A great rum. Skatalites are spinning on the turntable, a perfect fit.

Nose is fantastic! Son much layers, complex and so different in one bottle. Very aromatic, complex sweetness with full of fruits. In this release are much more less from “glue, acidic, nail polish etc”. This release are something more pleasant and soft. Yes, the nose is something different and unique. Taste is more traditional compare to another classic releases from WP. Fruits, soft bitter and lots of spice’s. Very long finish

Surprisingly awesome worthy park! Dried banana, dried fig and salted olive crackers to drink! Very very cool! I would not have thought!

An even different profile from its 2005 companion. The rum here is more concentrated on phenolic notes (ester and glue above all), with some medicinal notes, exotic fruits and much more pronounced pastry notes (marzipan and cookies). Aromatic herbs accompany this profile, less impregnated with wood and less impacted by spices. Nonetheless, it remains a dry, unctuous, gourmet rum with a pleasantly funky touch. The attack on the palate is much more simplistic. Tropical fruits, spices, wood, bitterness, leather, tobacco, herbs and esters. The profile is linear, smooth and the alcohol well integrated. One could have hoped for more, given the nose. The medium-length finish returns to some fruity notes, but is dominated by spice and wood. A touch of salt and a hint of olive complete the profile. Compared to the 2005 Single Cask, the nose is more exuberant, but the palate falls short of expectations and leaves us wanting more. It would be interesting to see Worthy Park with a mark more concentrated in esters to push the nose's promising aromatic side.

Amazingly good WP! Overripe banana, mango, salted caramel, light herbs and some glue gives a fantastic mixture!

3rd blind taste looking for the best Worthy “the secret distillery” Park. This time we have: H. Velier 2005, 57,8% OB Conquete 2007 WPM, 55% RA 2007, 59,1% C: D Gold N: Petrol, light ester and overripe peaches. I also get brine and bananas. Very similar to rum A (Habitation) but with more authority. It possesses thicker, heavier aromas. 20min in: Beautiful! I don’t know why but I feel a connection between those Bielle Brut de Fùt (Cask Strength) and this style of Worthy Park. Especially that peach-marmalade. There is also unpeeled fresh celery and petrol fumes. Best nose! M: Burnt sugar and coffee. Peaches, celery and that typical WP floral note. Unfortunately, the taste has this sourness that doesn’t let the great nose to be present here. F: White pepper. B: Maybe.

This WPM really can shine with what Worthy Park can be. The banana and tropical fruit fight against the bitter wood of tropical aging. All in a lovely balance with some ester. This is a very good rum with the perfect abv for the barrel. Hooray!
