Habitation Velier Long Pond White STC❤️E 2018
Daiquiri lovers and Jamaican-funk fans are the natural home for this unaged Long Pond STC❤️E. Expect nail polish and green olives on the nose, then a full fruit basket — banana, overripe pineapple, strawberry — with pepper, salt and rubber underneath. Several call it a "flavourbomb" that mixes brilliantly but still sips once it opens up. At 62.5% the alcohol lands surprisingly well-integrated.

- Great in Daiquiri

Yet another retaste and here I also stick to my score 😊 This is a surprisingly good white unaged rum. Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. Very fruity with an intense nose and starting palate. The chemical factory like my friend calls it is there and the finish is very long and warm. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is very nice even after hours.

Really interesting to have an unaged STCE in front of the nose. In direct comparison to a 13yo, this one almost has something of a white Agricole (similar to the Renegade pre-casks). The esters don't have the upper hand yet.Nose: fruity, fresh and sweet, herbal. Initially the esters are there with a pleasant vinegar note. Then immediately green apple with mild lemon and sweetish fruit, perhaps mirabelle or banana? Has hints of an Obstler. Behind that, spicy-sweet honey and a restrained blend of anise and chamomile. Palate: intense with an interesting flavor arc. Warm at first then salty-mineral bitter, very dry. Transitioning to light esters with some fruit, sugar cane sweetness, then green, with saffron and chamomile.Barrel cleaning would do it good.

Yummy🤤 Very classic fruity(full fruit basket from banana, citrus, overripe fruits) and funky estery rum! The alcohol is integrated well. I can recommend this for mixing! It can improve every cocktail 🤤
Review by Fasen
We are here in the presence of a Jamaican well fruity (Banana / Pineapple / Mango / Pear / Peach / Green apple acid) all these fruits are well sweetened and candied what gives an impression of candy to this rum.as any Jamaican who respects itself it is obviously empyreumatic (Rubber / Smoke / Metallic / Tar) but also greedy (Cream / Crème brûlé / Fruit cake). The spices accompany us all along (Nutmeg / Cinnamon / Vanilla / Liquorice / Clove) with also a small vegetable side that ends on a small olive brine in the end. It is really great!
Review by Thunderbird
On the nose, a fruity sweet note predominates, the alcohol is gently perceptible. A little vanilla also comes through.Surprising then on the palate: first a sweetness, then briefly something fruity and finally dominant a tart pleasant spice! The alcohol is perfectly integrated! That has what!In the finish, the spice remains most noticeable!Very tasty!

What a pleasure it is to open this bottle and immediately smell that distinctive aroma. It's strong, rotten, esterized, peppery and so on. The taste doesn't disappoint. It's intense. Young and lively. Everything is too present in this rum, and that makes it incredible. Long Pond is definitely my thing. Edit: tested and validated in an overboosted mai-tai! Re-edit: tested during a 5l barrel ageing experiment. This white is excellent. Edit: finished for this one. Impressions confirmed with each tasting.

A good long pond well funky. Nose: Esters/solvent + very ripe fruit + a very slight barbecue sauce. Mouth: an intense taste with more esters + very ripe banana and pineapple + a bit of sugar. Finish: fresh and soft, mineral and very light smoky.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
on the nose first burnt rubber, musty and very alcoholic, after some time then comes discreet lychee and raspberry and some banana through...in the taste then much more pleasant, but also relatively metallic and salty... then in the finish comes again raspberry, lychee, papaya and pineapple and something fresh grassy... in the daiquiri he comes against it really horny fruity intense and makes a real mood😁🥂

Long Pond Velier Colourless Nose: juicy and tropical. Yes there are high esters of course, but relatively friendly. Varnish, then hubba bubba chewing gum, banana, pineapple, strawberry and lemon. A hint of plastic and rubber, icing sugar, and honeysuckle. Taste: very rounded and sweet, what an explosion of fruit this is! Overripe pineapple, banana, papaya, honeysuckle again. Then icing sugar, strawberry confectionery, rubber, a hint of tar, ginger and green leaf. Finish: Long, lingering, on the overripe fruit, rubber and tar, and spice. What a great distillate this is!

Very representative of Jamaica, with a lot of fruity, vegetal esters and smoky notes. A nice long finish.
Review by Martin Augustin
A very interesting unaged Long Pond. In addition to the typical Jamaican notes (esters and fruit), for me it also has something of a good Agricole. An interesting and very successful combination. The alcohol is excellently integrated, especially considering that it has not been matured in barrels.

Beautiful unaged Long Pond. Also good to drink neat.
Review by edouard jaulent
Very expressive, lively Jamaican rum. The nose is dominated by varnish and green olives. On the palate, there's a certain sweetness. The 60° melts away perfectly, but remains present on the first sips and on the finish. Ideal for cocktails.
Review by Martin Ekrt
Fragrant banana, fruit, vanilla, cream, technicality, leather. Unobtrusive aroma, very nice. The first sip without dilution is quite a massacre, but then it turns into a Jamaican funky ride. Overripe fruit, technicality, leather. This could be interesting to have maybe at 55%.
Review by Benoit Mahe
I like the nose and the beginning of the mouth but the finish on the metal is rather unpleasant.
Review by Serge
The STCE Mark is just super tasty - also in this unaged bottling. Tastes also pure but is a grenade in the daiquiri.
Review by Andi
Super fruity, fresh and funky! For me a top candidate for a delicious daiquiri!

What a lovely nose! Intensely smells like fruity bubblegum. A touch of banana, accompagnied by baskets of berries: raspberry, blackberry and especially strawberry. Backbone structured by springwater, freshly brewed tea, old hay barn and black olives. Taste is very much alike, but with the introduction of sugarcane. The tea turns black and peppery with touches of anise. The finish is salty, minty and quite hot. The alcohol is not integrated perfectly, but the flavours are definitely there. This is amazing in cocktails, but leave it to breathe for a bit and it could be a sipper, making the release price/quality very high.
Review by MJ97
It is very complex (like most of the Jamaican I have tasted so far). On the nose, we have a lot of roundness, a nice note of banana well marked, on a background of dark chocolate. In mouth, the 62,5 are not felt at all, it is extremely well integrated. We have a red fruit side that takes over with the taste of yeast / crust that is in the background but that does not bother me as much as on the old ones. The finish remains on the red fruits.

With unaged rums, you immediately notice the quality, and this one is really first class. Fruity Jamaican with a lot of funk and very well-integrated alcohol. You should try it, especially because only then can you really appreciate what maturing does to the rum.
Review by Christoph
The heart in the marrow says it all ;-). After the alcohol has evaporated after a few minutes super pleasant "Jamaica ester nose" and in the taste an explosion of tropical fruits, with a metallic sweetness and a pinch of salt.
Review by Gd Flo
You like chiseled rums, flowers and poetry? It's not funky, it's delirious, it's not nasty, it's brutal! Dry it's a big slap, in cocktails (punch, ti punch, daiquiri) it's crazy! I emptied my 2nd bottle, I need a 3rd one quickly. Beware sado mazo rum addictive!
Review by zabo
This first nose reminded me of childhood and the Hubba Bubba gum.In the mouth this is nice funky and strong and nice full-bodied. Slightly salty I find just before the finish.A nice rum, for me so far the best unaged rum I had in the glass.
Review by F.L.O.
Great mixer. In a direct daiquiri comparison with Burke's Hampden, however, it is slightly inferior due to the fewer esters. It is more complex on its own than Burke's, but it still lacks the final kick. For me, it's simply a daiquiri board!

My Daiquiri Go-To !Nice intense, but does not block first time the smell and taste neves for the rest of the evening - but has I find, from its balanced flavor profile, almost what of nem Savanna - pear, apple, vanilla, mango, leather yogurt, strawberry, there's everything there, but still relatively mild.Would this rum in the shelf is not at the very back, I would have probably already mixed him.
Review by Nils123
Very complex. Changes with water and becomes sweeter on the nose, but spicier and pepperier in taste, yet also funky. The floral note remains longest on the finish. I like it very much.
Review by Piotr Ignasiak
I start to enjoy sipping unaged rum, especially Jamaican. This one is quite funky, full of tropicals fruit, spice and cream. Bought this as a nice mixer, might be more than that from time to time.

08/02/25: Tasted alongside 6 other Long Ponds. What a flavourbomb this is! Intensely fruity accompanied by spices and even some smoke/rubber. Very enjoyable and drinkable, even at 62,5%. In terms of price, you get alot for what you pay for. This was a surprise for me.

Waow i have a fruits salad close to a see port industrial area! Impressive for a White!! Only the price retained me to buy more bottles.

Winding white Jamaican with all the Jamaican attributes. Overripe fruit, slightly grassy/floral notes (slight Clairin associations), some tar/oil, slightly mineral. The alcohol at 62.5% is perfectly integrated, no peaks at all and goes down like oil. The consistency of the brandy is wonderfully fine and light. Very good to drink neat and the perfect base ingredients in any tiki cocktail.
Review by Alan Bertoli
It's a very fun rum! On the nose, the high ester content is noticeable. A very ripe pineapple scent dominates, then chemical notes of enamel and varnish. On the palate, it’s even more powerful: pineapple, funky taste, an interesting spiciness from pepper, and even more interesting a slight note of balsamic mint. The finish remains spicy with a slight bitter note of tire rubber. Beautiful ❤️
Review by Stijn Zino
Very nice white rum. The nose is a combination of LP funk combined with some fresh citrus. Medium to short finish. Great value for this price. As Long Pond fan i'm used to funkier stuff but still nice to have in your collection. Velier Foursquare White was a bit more complex then this one.
Review by Fuwi
I'm amazed at how much punch an unaged rum can bring! Very vegetal and funky with great ester aromas that aren't too fermented or dominant. It brings a bit of sharpness, but otherwise you hardly notice the 62.5%, great HV!
Review by TheFrenchRefill
An excellent rum that can also be drunk in a cocktail in a small Daiquiri or a small Mai Tai
Review by Balian
Nice fresh rum. Perfect for Daiquiri.

Ester 675 g/hL Extremely original You can clearly find the Jamaican markers of Long Pond Rich nose Palate too strong and powerful! 62.5 degrees really necessary? Fortunately develops and softens after the first sip Cool experience!

High esters. Good but for experienced ones.
Review by Davide Zuin
On the nose: vivid floral, fermented pineapple, vinegar, slight empyreumatic notes. Compared to rum fire less burnt notes, more floral. On the palate: oily, long lasting. Great rum
Review by Mentalo
Really good unaged rum. Amazing how well the alcohol integrates after a little time. Great basket of fruit on palate and nose. Little bothers me. Mostly the smoky note in the finish.
