Pub Alte Post Witten February 20225. Now something new, a Rum Nation from British Guyana. In any case, lots of oak, pepper, and coffee on the nose. On the palate, mostly leather and barrel. Also caramel and pepper.

Oh come on..., this one is pretty good. But you have to be in the mood for it. I wouldn't drink it every day. Quite dry and spicy, and if you're up for that, then it's good. The price is also totally reasonable.

Very strong woody tones. Intense oak and tannins. A bit of roasted aromas with spice and fruitiness. Not a bad rum. But the price of over 100€ really puts me off. There are much better options on the market for less money.

Sherry influence is clearly perceptible, especially in the taste, but also rounds off the whole harmoniously without being too dominant and above all without being too sweet. to get to know Guyana at a very fair PLV time and also to stir relaxed strong old fashioneds an excellent choice!

Blend from French Savalle, wooden Coffey and double wooden pot still ticking the classic Guyana boxes including Enmore and Port Mourant. Needs quite some time in the gas to open up.

On the nose and palate, sherry predominates. I am not the biggest sherry fan, so he does not take the 80 points hurdle with me. Nevertheless, a round and powerful rum with a good PLV.

Little tasting in peace while I sample the bottle. The nose takes a while to open up, at first I barely had anything, then there’s a nice coffee, sherry, cocoa powder vibe. On the palate it’s quite caramelized and tannic, but it goes down well. The finish, however, is a bit rough, I find it quite far from the nose, the spices are nice, the sharpness less so. Edit: after 1 hour of airing, quite a bit of bitter orange and chocolate on the palate. The warmth seems to have changed it a lot (for the better).

Very good valmue for money in this rum. And a classic example of a Guyana rum with the heavy preppery earthy spices that stays on the palate and evolves as you go
