Clarendon Plantation Duvel #5 Beer Finish 2013
The nose writes a check the palate doesn't cash. You get classic Jamaican orange peel, banana and ester up front, but the moment it hits your tongue several tasters say it feels watered-down and thin, with a short, bitter-beer finish that's the actual Duvel cask talking. Malt and tropical fruit show up faintly, then fade. Promising start, deflated middle.
- Interesting orange-banana nose
- Real beer finish
- Easy ABV

How does Clarendon Plantation Duvel #5 Beer Finish 2013 taste?
Aggregated from 25 community reviews.
Great nose, thin and bitter beer-finish palate Most agree the nose is interesting but the palate is too diluted and bitter to keep up. The beer finish is real, though faint unless you know Duvel. A curious experiment more than a keeper.

Better than Trinidad bottling with Duvel finish. Here, too, I perceive the beer in the taste and finish, but perhaps only because I know Duvel.sugar 0 g/l

Wirkt etwas runder. Aber auch kein großer Wurf. Schade.

Relatively meaningless. Due to the dilution, you can barely make out the base product. If you know it, you smell and taste something the beer barrel finish

I actually find the nose quite interesting. Unfortunately, the taste can not keep up at all. Much too diluted and then also much too bitter. Has not pleased me particularly well
