Anyone who likes their Jamaican rum fruit-forward rather than punchy will get along with this Wu Dram Clan bottling. Think pineapple, banana, mandarin and passion fruit with vanilla and only gentle esters, oak surprisingly quiet for 25 years. Most tasters guessed Hampden or Long Pond but noted the classic funk is muted. A few found it a touch thin and diluted for the age.

A blend of a Hampden, a younger Long Pond and a foreground apricot note. It goes most in the direction of a Low Ester Marks like HLCF Hampden 1992, but is not quite typical for it. I don't know such an apricot note from any other Hampden. In any case, an exciting and in my eyes fantastic rum!

I had very high expectations here but unfortunately the dilution is too strong. Aromatically there is not quite as much left as I had hoped. There's also too much wood for me overall and I think there could have been more potential here... Delicious, palatable sipping Hampden but as I said, I expected more here...

Blindverkostun: A very pleasant Sipper from Jamaica, with varied flavors, but very difficult to assign a particular distillery!Nice fruity, a perceptible wood impact, light funk and subtle ester!Successful bottlingToday tasted for the 2nd time, the first impression has been confirmed! On the palate I now taste a little more wood out...possibly Hampden HLCF or Clarendon!

A fine droplet... Nose: beautifully complex Jamaican with a medium ester content. Cocoa powder and toffee are present first, followed by a fine sweetness of passion fruit and muted papaya. I also detect a slight smoky note of tobacco. Then again a tart sweetness of maple syrup and some wood. Very pleasant. Palate: you can't feel the 50.1% at all. It almost seems a little thin. Only the esters are very light. Some tangerine and clearly candied orange peel. The sweetness reminds me of burnt sugar dissolved in water. A little green at the back with lovage. Pleasant and round, it requires a finer tongue to reveal its depths. Worth a second sip.

In the nose much Hampden us very appealing. Wonderful fragrance. In the mouth rather on the milder side. Good Jamaican. All the elements are very well connected. The finish is also surprisingly long . Flavorful and very well balanced. Very good rum.

#6220 10.01.2026 Got back home from a nice movie night with my friends and just had to run a few samples. Nose Intense, faint wood, fruity, pineapple, faint floral, light varnish, light anise. Palate Medium intense, light wood, light peppery, light mint, light anise, banana, light citrus, faint salt. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint smoke, light peppery, banana, light anise. Empty glass Banana, light citrus, faint grass, licorice, faint tar.

12 Days of Esters. Day 12. De esters qui bondissent vers mon nez, fruits tropicaux trop mûrs, de la vanille bourbon aussi. Le bois est discret, en soutient. De la vanille en première bouche, un côté flan caramel bien gourmand. Les esters sont là. La finale est moyennement longue sur le flan caramel pâtissier. Du bois léger tout à la fin. Verre vide : de beaux fruits trop mûrs et du bois.

I think this is a mid-range Ester (LROK, HLCF) HD that might have been exposed to too strong oxidation. Citrus fruit markers are present. Also vanilla, yogurt, plum, and something leaning towards rhubarb. The palate is round, not very woody for 25 years in the cask. The finish is unfortunately a bit short. Overall, a very tasty sipper!

Last sample of the E(a)ster calendar! Well balanced Jamaican rum, very fruity on the nose, with a touch of spices. My first experience with this bottler, and it is good enough to let me crave for more :)

Für mich ein sehr gelungener Blend. Würde tippen, dass hier auf jedenfall ein Hampden mit drin ist. Bilde mir auch ein, dass ein Clarendon auch mit im Spiel ist. Als Fazit bleibt, dass er sehr gut ist, aber leider ein wenig dünn, sonst wäre noch mehr drin gewesen

The nose is lovely, exactly what I like to get from some Jamaican rums: Ester, tropical fruit and a touch of overripe fruit. In the mouth the rum falls a bit short as none of the aromas really stands out and is a little flat. I would have given a few more points if the aromas stood out a little more. Round profile, tropical and citrus fruits, subtle wood and spice notes, nice fruit sweetness. The reduced strength makes the whole thing pleasant to drink, I like it. Not for those moments when you're looking for extremes, but by no means uninteresting. A successful release.

#12 RumXHighE(a)ster weeks: Blind tasting: I think this one is from Jamaica. There’s a little bit of funk, but not Hampden like…🤔 approx 20. years of aging approx. 45% Low-Mid ester Result: This is an easy sipper. A mixture of various fruits (citrus, mandarin, orange, sour cherry) combined with some esters and a very well integrated barrel. The alcohol is integrated very well, seems diluted (in mouth), isn‘t it? 🤔 The finish is medium long and very delicious. All in all a lovely rum

Von Gesamteindruck würde auch ich hier auf Hampden schließen, allerdings doch auch sehr ungewöhnlich. Die Hampden-Aromatik ist da, auch ganz eindeutig, aber versteckt sich vor allem am Gaumen erstmal, bevor sie plötzlich und erwartet doch den ganzen Raum einnimmt. Vor allem eindeutig die leicht saure Trockenheit, die sich nach dem Schlucken einstellt und bei anderen Hampden stundenlang bestehen bleibt. Ansonsten vor allem spannende Nase, irgendwas fehlt mir im Geschmack. Vielleicht etwas zu dünn für das Alter? Trotzdem tolle Abfüllung, vor allem mit der Hintergrundgeschichte!

From the smell I would say this is a Hampden but not quite typical. The penetrating banana and citrus fruit are missing. The taste continues the olfactory impression even more clearly. A totally atypical Hampden. It lacks the punch you expect from a Hampden. Also in the finish we find no dominant Hampden. Still a good drop that I would recommend.

Beautiful nose with fruits such as cherry, grape and mirabelle plum. Palate with spices, vanilla, a pleasant sweetness and a subtle wood/barrel note. Extremely mild on the palate. A class rum.

On the nose: Light esters and pleasant on the nose. Fruity notes and spice notes nicely blended together. Taste: Esters,Fruity notes, light woody notes, light nutty notes. Mouthfeel has a little bit of buttery feel to it. Then you get mixture of burnt sugar and vanilla with little bit of fruity notes and banana notes in there. Once the rum sits in the glass for longer and opens up, the palate changes towards maybe Hampden rum profile with clearer ester and overripe pineapple noted. Good notes and abv integration is very good. Finish: Woody, light fruity notes at first. Then palate developes towards dark chocolate and coffee. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Very tasty rum. I wasn't sure about the distillery at first, but during the tasting the palate developed towards Hampden rum profile. Easy to sip, but the 50%abv really offers surprisingly good body and strong notes.

Jamaica without Hampden tasting: Positive surprise with lots of profile. Lots of esters, tropical fruits, wood and spices from nose to finish. On the palate the strong banana excites me. Alcohol really good. You don't notice the 'low' ABV.

Amazing age, 25 y.o. Hampden. Again, I don't see the mark, but looks like LFCH Nose: Yup, lite esters, pineapple, bananas, green apple, mango, lime, bitter orange. Very fresh, like for 25y.o. Some vanilla, ginger, little bit of solvents, polish & very old oak. Touch of honeycomb, wax. Wow, didn't expect so delicate & fruity nose, from 25y.o. rum. Palate: Mmmm, delicious. Tropical fruits, pineapple, banana, mango, honeycomb, passion fruit, mandarin, orange zest, buttery texture, hint of esters, some oil paint, vanilla, nougat and fresh biscuits. Fabulous! Aftertaste: infinity long... pineapple, banana, passion fruit, biscuits, honeycomb, some dried fruits, hint of esters. Conclusion: Didn't expect profile like this. So fruity, not overoaked, moreover - oak almost don't play. Rich, fruity bomb. I wanna drink more & more this one. Maybe, it's not so complex, but very tasty. Highly recommend !!!

Not a bad Hampden (or blend). But not wow. Alcohol sticks out a bit. For me, too little petrol or diesel with olives in brine. The taste is somewhat disconnected from the aroma and finish.

A super ester high nose with Jamaica typical pineapple along with some really mellow vanilla notes. Tasting reveals a lot more woody baking spicy vanilla notes. It really mellows the tasting sensation a lot.
