One Danish taster called the palate "dry and wonderfully warm," and that's the honest read on this Savanna: pepper first, then mint, tobacco, a little burnt caramel and red-fruit tartness. It's spicy and intense rather than fruity, and at 59.4% the heat shows. Several people liked it a lot while noting it isn't a complexity monster and the finish runs a touch peppery-flat.

Very peppery, intense savanna. Almost something of a colorful pepper mixture, plus some citrus marmalade and caramel. Nice piece but not a complexity monster! Still really really tasty, thanks Mirco!

Nose very floral with herbs and red pepper. I would place the fruit here with cherries, green apple and papaya. On the palate, the alcohol is very present together with the peppery notes and is slightly pungent. I also taste something in the direction of cardamom, slightly soapy and bitter. Very little fruitiness on the palate.... Not bad but not the profile I like from Savanna.

Delightful nose! Dark, toasty and intense. Nice and spicy on the palate. But the finish is unfortunately a bit too peppery and flat.

On the nose there are dark fruits, vanilla and a hint of tobacco, accompanied by light spice. On the palate strong, with aromas of dried fruit, chocolate and oak, complemented by a tart note. The finish is long and spicy, but feels a bit edgy and not quite balanced. An interesting but demanding Savanna that shows character without fully harmonizing.

An interesting nose, restrained actually and for my first Savanna was expecting a little more. Mint and lemon alongside sugary notes, caramel on the palate and an element of pepper and spice. Finish brings more herbal and vegetal notes. Complex but lacks the fine balance that really takes a rum to another level.

Beautiful intensity, balance between liveliness and indulgence with spices and licorice, accompanied by tangy red fruits. Maybe a bit alcoholic. Nice length. A good representative of what you can love in Savanna and in Reunion molasses rums.
